I probably consider looking into either illegear z5 or acer v nitro, I think both having almost same price is it?

Furthermore, I tend to prefer ati cards compared to nvidia in the past, but now I don't even have a choice if I want to have ati x intel processor.

All the more reason why also because one of my friend last time had a second hand laptop, I think it's an acer too, running on nvidia but there were no driver support, and also after updating the driver I think he got issues with it, thus making him unable to play new games requiring newer driver version
*
yes... but acer v nitro is cheaper than illegear z5... 3.3k if not mistaken...

i was amd fanboys.. i love their techn.. but, past few years... im kinda disappointed wif amd... not much improvement.. thats why i say.. if u buy notebook.. its better invest in intel + nvdia.

talking about driver issue... u buy low end gpu card... but wanna ply games dat require mid end or high entry card and running it in low setting.... of cz sometimes compatibility problems doh.gif

Hey guys, any recommendation for the following requirements?

1) Asus, MSI, Acer, Dell
2) Rm3K to RM4k
3) Casual to moderate gaming(able to play current games at high settings), daily usage for Microsoft words/excel/power point presentation
4)15.6inches, looking for I7 OS, at least 8GB RAM, SSD Storage and GPU at least NVidia GTX 860M and above.

Thanks! smile.gif

its better invest for high entry gpu  and pure quad core..  long terms usage.. acer has highest turn in for repairs due to lots of customer using acer as well... fujitsu and toshiba.. see their market in malaysia.. kinda not that popular..  how u wan get a correct data? pretty hard isnt it..

well, wat ur fren said is really funny.. i guess he doesn't know anything much about mobile computing...  dont forget, you amd manufacture 2 things (cpu and gpu) while intel and nvdia is 2 different entities.  so, you cant say windows = nvdia. linux = amd. cz.. windows can be using amd processor and graphic card as well.. and intel can run sync with amd. cz its either; OS + amd cpu + ati gpu  or OS + intel + ati or OS + intel + nvdia

there is always different with nvdia and amd.. to be conclude for time being... most games favor to nvidia card.. so its good to invest in green camp... while red camp suffering a lot. but im not sure when will they bounce back especially recent scandal being expose when nvdia purposely killing gaming industry by make sure gaming industry invest in their card compare to amd.. amd is cheap and gives competitive performance.. but until today... i still feel disappointment with red camp.. since release of bulldozer and llano architecture.

Yes, the data is quite hard to get considering msia actually unlike western that has a lot of choices, but these choices also delivered by the storekeeper purposely limiting the option, for example desktop gpu I've been surveying a lot in msia is mostly asus, gigabyte, sapphire, but I used HIS last time starting around 2007 till 2013 where it died. Gotta say AMD mid end gpu is good and I'm able to play borderlands 2 in full quality that time too with full 1080p resolution on my 2007-2008 gaming rig equipment. Now it's dead due to bios and had to downgrade to geforce 8850 something, the old 4 figure geforce

What he meant was if you're going to use windows better use nvidia, if linux better use ati. Even with this 4820tg gpu, playing assassins creed up to black flag, I just have to update the driver and I'm good to go, while unity, with bad stutter but just the same, I just update the driver and basically I'm able to play. I never used nvidia so their driver support for old hardware is trivial to me especially on mobile gpu lines, not to mention average future games it can support for example can support up to games 5 years in the future but at that range the setting has to be low for fluid gameplay

Yes, another main reason why I tend to go mid to entry high gpu performance laptop in the first place, I might play games. Further more I also might do some other things requires intensive computing power.

Between both, v nitro and illegear z5, can you give me suggestion like pros and cons maybe? =)

no... if windows.. either use intel ready gpu or nvdia... both can... linux doesnt need graphic card... mostly.. doesnt need any... integrated gpu is good to go.. u not really wan play games on linux platform isnt it.. unless, you generating password cracking using gpu for security purpose. sometimes, driver cause games to crash a lot.. updating driver sometimes does not gv any significant different. it depends...

v nitro is much lighter than z5... and these 2 notebook have different class.. 1 is premium class, 1 is standard premier class...

if have budged more than 4k.. to be exact 4.3k.. for surely, illegear z5 is good for investment. good service after sales, best money value and its customised notebook. you might want ssd for the laptop.... so can be add on.. and many features can be added because it is customised. its comes with freeDos, so you can install OS on your own.. well, u know how isnt it laugh.gif save moneyflies.gif ma.... still, it is reliable notebook....

v nitro on the other hand is standard premier class cz its budged notebook... everything is fix.. cant customised it.. warranty support seems slightly improve... but not yet as good as illegear or dell. still pretty reliable somehow to me. as long as still under warranty.. i have no worries and wount spend $$ while snd for repair or wat.. as long as buying from authorize dealer. but it comes with OS.. so, kinda "plug and play" style...

since these 2 comes with great different in price... its up to your budget...

Sigh, when I thought wanna go for z5, I just realised it's a freedos laptop and 4.4k is just for the hardware only. I could go with illegear z5 freedos like a refugee win7 users but the win10 upgrades are only for selective win7 only. And win7 soon will become like winxp that eventually dies out slowly.

Spec wise,

v17 nitro got 17" full hd display with optical drive, price is unknown for now, the optical bay can be changed to secondary sata but like you said, everything's fixed, windows os included

z5; somewhat customizable (practically new to me) and might get me using this one for long term but it's freedos, most likely gotta be a refugee in win7, uses ssd, no optical

It is so confusing which one rclxub.gif

before this... they want to replace IE.. that namely spartans. but end up they use the name edge browser.. means... they actually fail to finish up the project.. so they extend the ability of IE then gv new name "the edge". better than ie but not meet spartans expectation. still The Edge is prototype for Spartans browser. its just forums assumptions. read it somewhere laugh.gif

Have yet to try out the Edge but imho, people will still stick with chrome/safari. If the Spartan is a success, this will definitely be another story already. biggrin.gif
