Well don't expect much. Lets not forget the the SDex price range is almost the same as normal SD.

RG costs twice as much as the HG to get all the goodness.

it is at 600 yen so what do you expect?
plus SD is clearly aimed at kids, dont even need to use tool to assemble
only twist the part out from runners, assemble, put stickers, done!

stickers is for small detail part which cant get molded into separate part
the major part is already color molded
try compare '90 SD and currently SD, so much different

Yeah... go last thread see the runners photo I posted... worse than those recent Build Fighter SD release....

perhaps you guys been spoiled by MG and RG greatness?
LBX,Yokai Watch, Keroro have lots of stickers and unpainted part too
but it is a great selling because it was targeted to kids in the 1st place

Even the majin bone kit also were given so much detailing stickers... Same as valvrave kit...

Yes it matches the price range. Like I mentioned, if RG costs double than HG, if you expect the SDex to be better than SD, then the price would be double of that relatively.

Got mine from Taobao n print it with company laser jet but I advice you to print at printer shop where usually the graphic design student go one cz resolution I recommend as high as possible mine 1600 laser jet still can't get the warning details clear.

Also after that decal was done it failed miserably after top coated it and apply on my black shield. Because decal look awesome on white surface but not on black my skeleton decal turn dark brown...

So kinda abandon my Hebrew lucifer wording decal too, pity.

Tried MGM top coat too but also failed terribly, tonight gonna put 2nd coat see whether can get back glossy finish or not.

What programme u use

If u wan sharp edges, accurate color and clearer images use adobe illustrator

I'm working on a 90's SD Zeta, i can say the quality is much better than modern SD, maybe even better than latest SD. Most small parts that has separate colors comes in separate runners, weapons are not 1 piece with 1 side empty/partially empty, size are much bigger, mold quality are better, somemore comes with 3LED lights that can change color & batteries. There's few areas you need stickers or paint but compare to today's SD it's much better. The fittings are also better.

I feel classic SD are cute and have their own greatness.
Modern SD is not trying to add more articulation inside and slowly i feel its more of a smaller size of HG with a SD head.
Which i think slowly reducing its charm.
But if compare, recent SD added more things in but increase the "hollow" parts.
Most of the legs now are hollow.
Sangoku SD is my favorite as right size and have both cuteness and coolness.

Actually it's not the software issue but the printer I used normal printer won't print white so might seemed nice on blank decal white paper but when remove the decals actually the white portion become transparent and the background will replace the transparent portion of your decal turning dark brown in my case.

ic, btw there's no local shop that sell decal sheets for printing?

Not sure bout local, usually I ordered from taobao that bundled with my other gunpla supplies to save shipping and it sure does together with other paints and stuff.

There are PC shop should sell these referred to some us guy YouTube video but the price he mentioned is crazy think 15usd 5sheet something like that. I just bout like below 7rmb exclude shipping.

Bare in mind, these DIY decals might gets a bit rough on the edges depend on how u cut it. Also need glossy topcoat after u print it.

hollow parts = save cost, with production cost rising, they have to do so in order to keep the price same. if you don't like it you can always putty the hollow parts, not like you can see them if you look from the front.

or buy back older kits which are cheaper & better quality.

just completed the HGCE Freedom Revive ver.

FANTASTIC kit.. loved it more than i thought i would.. the build was fun and the articulation is pretty damned good.. Bandai came a long way with HGs and a lot of them can stand next to RG and not look horrible.. i urge u all to buy this kit once it reaches here.. i highly recommend it!
