its frosting effect... usually happens when you top coat on non sunny whether/theres moisture in the air...

solution..
1.you can scrape it off..

or..

2.if u r using MR Superclear Matt/flatt.
wait for a sunny hot day.. reblast the topcoat on top of those frosting..
Mr superclear is hot paint.. so it will melt and dissolve the frosting...

Humidity.
Spray when the weather is hot and dry. Or use a drying booth/oven.

Spray under direct sunlight preferably in the noon, and let it dry under sunlight. The frosting effect can appear even after the top coat looks dry enough.

Hi all,

I have been doing some research on reverse wash paint on sinanju.

Was wondering where do you guys normally purchase the paints for this.

And is it okay if I paint using brush directly? as I do not have an airbrush at the moment.

you need this 2 paint:
1.lacquer based paint, this is a 1st layer paint
the color is for emblem, either gold, silver or other color

2. enamel based paint, this is for black color, 2nd layer paint
and you also need zippo lighter fluid to clean the emblem off to reveal the 1st layer paint

hand painting is okay but you will have problem with tiny gap to reverse wash on shield, like I did with my SD & HG Sinanju

Noted on that.

Might do some testing before I proceed on sinanju directly sweat.gif

Which brand of lacquer & enamel paint did you use on your sinanju? is there any difference between the brand (Eg. Tamiya, Mr.color, etc) or its more towards preference?

lacquer - any brand will do, as long the paint wont make your plastic cracked
enamel - so far I only find Tamiya one, not sure other hobby brand have this enamel based paint

More snap from my sinanju stein, loving this kit the simplicity make it easy to pose but have to be extra careful not to damage the decals

thats good enough.. you can short cut it buy separate in two for main body,

upper body= torso, hands,head.
Lower body= waist,legs.

backpack/equipments/weapons hv to do do separate..

I did it this way when i am dealing with water slide, really need extra coats because previously, the rifle decals actually torn when i accidentally rub it over the arms sad.gif

If it's stickers base like the origin MG i coat it in one go biggrin.gif
