Noted a louder noise on the first startup in the morning, RPM at around 1100. Idle later in the day is about 800.

AA
Like to know what is your RPM on the first startup in the morning.

BB
Engine noise has changed since I got the car nearly 5 years ago. Anyone with a similar problem?

Thanks.

AA
1100, normal for warm up. 800 when properly warmed

BB

I'm thinking of upgrading the stock headlight bulbs to the best road legal halogen bulbs. Now considering Philips X-treme Vision Plus +130% or Racing Vision +150% for low beam.
How about high beam then? I rarely use it so probably won't put the expensive high performance bulbs. Any recommendation other than OEM bulbs?
*
stock not bright enough?
try find RD_Malaysia on FB, or Ray Ng on Preve group.

When I put my car into reverse, the usual reverse sensor beeping not working normally.

Instead is gives a continuous long beep (alike an object is very close) but actually nothing is there

What could be the issue?
*
car crash lately?
look like its the sensor got loose, previously I got same case after kena bump from behind.
the SC open bumper, plug it back tightly, done. and its free.

or you can try wipe the sensor 1st to check if its dust like the other person mentioned.

I am having this problem as well. i noticed if put it in D mode and let it go without pedaling, my steering is straight center on straight road. once i step on the accelerator, i need to adjust steering slightly (about 10degree) to the right. is this similar to the issue u described on the tie rod?

p/s: so far, my tires wear n tear is perfectly normal. no uneven wear can be noticed.
*
common Preve problem, I think most ppl skew to the left rather than the right.
I think cannot fix, read before got ppl say is design problem

how to use s mode?

how do u engage it?
*
I recall 'S' mode is on CFE only (may be wrong)
on normal auto gear car after D is L, on Preve, its S

correct, as per image.

S mode will lock gear in higher RPM and higher pedal response.
but got a lot of negative damage as experienced by using it, now i'm staying away from using it.

ECU tuning or Remapping which pushes your engine beyond stock setting might also be a factor to faster weardown of parts.

I rarely use it, easier to just flip paddle to downshift for overtaking
but its a lot of fun when using for uphill mountain road.

when does one use S mode? climbing hill? accelarate?
*
uphill, accelerate, overtaking, or traffic light launch (jk XD), basically any situation u need more power n immediate response from engine
it gives better/faster pedal response, higher engine RPM (3100 vs 2500 normal), and more power.
not recommended fro frequent use, since its pushing more power from engine = higher wear n tear

why not just use flappy pedal shifter?  laugh.gif
if signal can switch off once you flip the stick back, it's plastic broken inside steering wheel/signal stick.
either open up steering and glue or SC....

if signal cannot switch off regardless of stick position, then gg electrical problem laugh.gif

tried it few times, bad at gear shift timing tongue.gif tongue.gif

hi, plan to get a used car. tempted to get suprima s year 2017. quick check at mudah less than rm30k.

reading quite a bit on preve issues. did suprima have same issue? or proton already improve their qc for suprima.
my main concern:
1. cvt
2. och
3. aircon relay (fusebox design fail)

any thought?
*
suprima and preve parts similar anyway
1. cvt is probably depends on the user, heavy foot, hard acceleration kills it faster, my friend bought 2016, cvt dead 2 times, mine bought 2017, so far no hiccup
2. och got newer material, last longer
3. same as 1, see your luck, not happened to me so far *touch wood*

in my list..inspira too.
now considering these 3.
getting as much info as i can. pro & cons.
did proton make any refinement on 2017 preve/suprima compare to 2016?
so far i only know about och. gb no?
*
Preve got refinement in 2018, 2 varian, exec and premium, now both got turbo, premium version now got DRL
NVH refinement as well, lower cabin noise, new engine mounting, etc
