Checked the wirings after they have removed the HU. Only a bundle of cables left to plug into the black rectangle socket. No other unplugged cables remaining.

That triggered me asking whether the blue and white sockets are for the car camera.

Are you using the blue and white sockets for your car camera? If so, what type of plugs, 2 or 3 layers plug?

Camera working fine with this setup? Which plug (blue or white) is for the reverse light connection to trigger the reverse camera image on the display?

Thanks.

I didn't change HU.. Just inspect ABCM unit behind that HU. What i got, HU body unit always getting hot even car switch OFF.
So, I try disconnect every socket behind HU. I not remember either blue socket nor white socket that make the HU getting hot.
1 socket for GPS satellite system and other 1 for radio frequency system, but both socket need to connect to make HU system function.

Found some oil on the car porch floor yesterday. Oil might be there for days and I did not notice it. Cleaned the floor to confirm the leak. Yes, some oil on the floor the next day.

AA
Serviced the leak, luckily it was not the engine body. It was the top cover gasket. Replaced and it cost me RM150 including 2 other things they said needed to be replaced as well.

Like to know how many here has this top gasket leak. My car is 5+ years.

BB
Yesterday after I discovered the leak, topped up the engine oil. But I over did it with the level at about 1 cm higher the max. Asked the SC to check and adjust the engine oil, they said yes but did not do it. So I will have to suck it out myself later when the oil is cooler.

Gasket leak is quite common even for other cars. It's better to do at service center because you're less likely to be conned from the 'gasket glue fee' where these workshops will always charge RM20-RM30. If you buy high temperature gasket glue from stores, one tube can be used on two cars and is only around RM10 or so.

Thanks.

Gasket replacement done at the SC.

My previous Wira, even more than 10 years old, did not have to replace the gasket. May be due to my low mileage and no excessive speed? Ha.

After waiting for 2 months, learn today that they have returned my HU and asked me to update the software via lakotoo.

Blxxdy customer service, took 2 months to come back with that answer.

Said they cannot update for me, I have to update it myself via lakotoo. Checked the web and that site has been deleted.

Appreciate help from friends here on how I can fix my problem with the HU GPS update. Many thanks.

I just checked the site, it seems to be online

http://www.lokatoo.com/Downloads/Map-Download.aspx

Many thanks. Yes, on line now.

Which version is for Preve turbo 2014?

Preve is not stated in there for Proron cars. Strange.

How much for the software?

Thanks.

Checked with lokatoo and the lady said Preve does not use lokatoo for the GPS.

No wonder when I went through their software selection, I could not find Preve in there.

Like to know which GPS are you using in your Preve? Once I know what it is, then I can follow from there. My SC here does not know. Pity!

Thanks.

My HU is Blaupunkt, Garmin map.
Map can download from Malsingmaps/Malfreemaps.
Never update software before so  hmm.gif

Thanks.

Mine is Bosch HU.

Will check it out and see if the tracking no on the sd card is of the same format as in Malsingmaps. If the same, then mine is like yours. My sd tracking no is of diff format compared to Lokatoo's.

Thanks for your help.

should be able to update the maps by replacing file in SD card.
just make a copy to be safe.

Dont know which one I am using. How can I tell?

Now when I go to the map section, it is a blank blue screen. Thus the need to download the GPS software.

A quick update.

Didnt update the GPS map software as I could not get it. Left it as is.

Surprised to note that the GPS map started to work again yesterday! All by itself. Dont really know why. My guess the problem is electronic and not software. Software stays the same while electronic can be affected by weather, heat, humidity etc.

Hope that it will stay good from now on.

Thanks.

Exora Bold, Preve and Suprima all got CVT problems. Quite common for them to go wrong.

Thanks.

Nature of the cvt problem? Maybe I did not notice it. Like to find out. Pity that it will take 2-3 days for them to replace.

I'm batch 2013, still trying to claim this...
*
Thanks.

I only have 3 months to go for my 5 yrs warranty. So, glad to get a free replacement.

Some owner mentioned SC will suggest change mounting in the same time if condition not good. They need to take out the whole gearbox to replace this part.
*
Oh dear, we pay for the mounting? If no good, then should be under warranty. Ha.

if warranty is over, do we still get free replacement for recall parts?
*
I am speaking my mind here, I have no knowledge on this technical or legal aspects.

If it is a design fault, then they should replace ALL cars with that design. Eg faulty air bags.

Warranty covers for things that break down sooner than what they have expected. And that design is still in use, not that they have discontinued with that design.

But I think they will lean on the cheaper side and only cover those still within the warranty period.

Call the senior manager and demand ....

My 2 cents .....

If your warranty just ended, then find out when did they start this CVT replacement program. It may be before your warranty expires. Then you are in luck. Ha.
