Oooh. The Bosch Aerotwin is a whole lotta better than the stock wipers on my prev Golf, planning to upgrade my current one as well, but finding one for the mk7 is a bit hard, as least here.

Well for the 1.6 cars (Polo HB, Sedan, Vento) they're specified in the service schedule. The spark plugs are just RM55 actually, 55x4 = RM220 but add up the also mandatory air filter (RM138) and pollen/cabin filter (RM107) PLUS labour, it adds up. Especially at 4th service when the ATF change is needed. A little bit of diggin reveals that the plugs - by Bosch, does specify requiring replacement every 30k. Can't they use a long-life iridium instead..?
Imagine when a customer that migrated from a Jap to the so called 'entry-level, affordable VW' reached his/her 2nd service? Sigh. |

QUOTE(earl-ku @ Jan 4 2017, 03:26 PM) so this cheaper version spark plugs is just 55 and they charge 220? Eh..? Yea they're RM55 each, so a set of 4 would be RM220 of course..? Iirc every other TSIs cost around RM100++ each, not counting those GTI/R stuffs off course.lol honda city uses iridium ones and changes only at 100k How much Honda charges for those plugs for a City btw? |

Yea price list for parts are standard across all SCs afaik. But not labour, although I don't know why.

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Feb 9 2017, 08:47 PM) Here. Look at the Polo Sedan/Hatch 1.6 for the general idea (the windscreen washer fluid is optional). Varies a little bit from one SC to another, but pretty much almost the same. Which is darn expensive compared to the other common models, and obviously very expensive if you compare the same segment from other makers. I suggest you top up a bit for the Vento 1.2 - much more powerful engine ( best in class IMO), better FC, and cheaper maintenance. But yea all models, the interval is 15k km or 12 months - whichever comes first. |

The B8 is too new for any issues to pop up really. But the then Highline is basically uh, a mk7 Golf in a sedan body with the GTI engine technically. Should be okay compared to the B7 iinm.

Well to count.. my 2 year old + Mk7 had been through 2 batteries, 1 mecha replacement, and the fuel flap motor. I'd count the suspension mount and bearings too, but that's my own fault for going with aftermarket shocks/springs. And the front driver side cornering bulb which is well.. just a silly bulb.

I'm getting small microscopic cracks on my headlights too. Haven't got to asking my dealer on this.. it's rather unacceptable for a 2 year old+ car.

AFAIK you can just use any battery w/out problems. As long as it fits fine that is. Not many people go back to the dealer for a replacement battery, unless the batter yis still covered under warranty, because it's just plain expensive compared to purchasing an equivalent one outside.
kadajawi have you tested the new Tiguan? Being a fellow Golf owner.. lately I feel the need for a SUV, a compact one specifically. Tired of dodging potholes, speed bumps, and my kids hogging alllllll the space in my Golf This post has been edited by BlitzAce: Feb 23 2017, 11:36 AM |

Yea but IMO the newest version of the DSG 7 feels somewhat.. better than previous ones, mine included. Although I wish the Jetta especially Highline should get more kit (even though it's already cheaper than the previous post-lift lel..)
Why didn't you test the Passat Highline? Now that's a whole lot of fun! |

QUOTE(boyz @ Feb 28 2017, 11:17 AM) Don't tempt me was what i told myself. i was driving with my family so i expect the 250nm torq is good enough n the kit wise is sufficient. My dealer offered me and extra 1k, on top of what you're quoting. It's in Kuantan though..jetta highline is the model to go, however i need a larger car . how i wish they have drop everything sale like the last.. b8 offer 18k n jetta 10k discounts.. anyone got better deals? I agree the Passat Comfortline is pretty much well-specced, compared to the Jetta Comfortline. But you sure you can't top up for the Highline B8? The digital meter cluster, nice 18" wheels, 6.5" headunit with Navi (that goes on the cluster!) dynamic suspension and obviously, alllllll the power at your fingertips (or your foot) But maintenance cost for the 2.0 is roughly like what.. 2k more? Over the course of 5 years or 60k km, assuming. And not including the stuff like tyres/roadtax/insurance and obviously, the fuel cost |

The new Tiguan is looking good. 1.4 TSI, with stuff like 6.5" Navi, Active Info Display (!), KESSY and Park Assist. Mmmmhhh this is bad, veryyy baddd for me.

I think the Highline is better specced than the current Q3 Audi Malaysia is offering, that costs like 40k more. Seems the only advantage the Q3 has over the new Tiguan esp the Highline is the badge imo.

QUOTE(kadajawi @ Mar 3 2017, 07:12 AM) KESSY has been proven to be insecure. There are devices you can buy that circumvent it instantly and without drawing any attention. And you can actually build such a device yourself with some electronics knowledge. The suggestion when you have keyless go is to deactivate it in the car menu, and if that is not possible to wrap the key in tin foil/put it into a metal box. Overseas a worrying number of cars were already stolen this way. Yea I've read about that KESSY fiasco, but I thought MQB models are still relatively safe..? 'Sides at where I live, I really don't need to worry about all that, ha. I wouldn't have had any use for adaptive cruise control.. but Light Assist would be neat! Anyway for me the new Tiguan HL ticks all the right boxes for me - cept for the somewhat.. slighly high fc. I understand it's like 200kg heavier than my Golf, but still..I find it disappointing that they leave away the adaptive cruise control. It's like RM 1000 these days (at least on the Golf 7 FL the option is very cheap). Oh would love Pano roof, too QUOTE(Xnet @ Mar 4 2017, 10:29 AM) Comfortline or Highline? |
