QUOTE(danmooncake @ Aug 4 2015, 12:05 PM) Waah.. Ringgit drops to 3.87... even at this level, more people continue to dump ringgit and buy USD and SGD. according to small fellas like us, it is primarily caused by xmbd, no end in sight. according to the politicians, it is all caused by uncontrollable external factors, nothing internal. u wonder what those billionaire politicians and their cronies are doing now with their rm.

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Aug 5 2015, 09:42 AM) Line in sand for fruit is 120... imo. cannot buy now. But, if drop to 105.. then I buy again. ya, can't buy now. consider when <110. the selling force is strong. not looking good for the broader market. i can only trade crude and inverse crude these days. fifo - fast in fast out.

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Aug 6 2015, 04:16 PM) Bro, nymes is hitting 44 very soon. wonder if we can short xle? would hv made >15% if u bought ery, a 3x inverse xle a few days ago. ery (or erx, 3x xle) is not a bad choice if using local platforms with higher brokerage - better to hold a while, not fast trading. me, i prefer dwti and uco - fast & furious 1-7. uwti, the inverse of dwti cost a lot more in brokerage, dunno why...

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Aug 6 2015, 05:30 PM) ya. I read that u are in ery. but oil going down wor. wish I have the ib acc to short it. looking at fxp tonight. oil down, will hurt xle. so, same like short - can buy ery which is 3x inverse xle. not erx! one thing, local platforms may not have some the counters i mentioned, but most are there. fxp... or fxi... china is very jittery, can swing either way crazy... crude does look like wanting to shed another 1-2% tonight...

QUOTE(ILoveLalat.net @ Aug 6 2015, 06:21 PM) I only joined the stock market foray in 2007, but I did heard that 4.71 was the lowest point the Ringgit ever reached. After researching on the Ringgit, oil prices are also to blame for the downfall of the Ringgit as well. We would have to wait and see. I am still betting on USD/MYR at 4.00. Anyway, after years of paper trading and riding onto someone's back in US trading, I might soon join in given the market conditions in US keeps up this way. Thinking of TDAmeritrade or IB as the brokerage account. rm is down and down because of a triple whammy - falling oil/gas prices, potential usd rate hike and prolonged bad local politics. the thing is we alredy know this for some time now, don't we?! yes, go for one of those brokers!

QUOTE(ILoveLalat.net @ Aug 6 2015, 06:35 PM) Problem is, everywhere I go is "This is because of 1MDB", "Because our PM is silent on this" and so forth. So yeah, everyone is pinning the blame to say 1MDB is at fault. But the problem is not just 1MDB is the problem but everyone solely blaming on Najib. I too do not agree with what he is doing at the moment, but I am pretty sure that Australia and Canada is down also because of 1MDB? Now how odd can it be? Oh yeah I heard most of the forumers here are using IB? But I am planning to play options and stocks and there is a requirement for IB? How about TDAmeritrade? it is impt to understand that the main driver is CONFIDENCE, local and foreign investors. u surely can gauge investor confidence with all those 3 factors together! ok, this is stocks/fin section... too much politics will derail the thread... IB is lowest cost. Ameritrade is popular too, as far as i know.

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Aug 6 2015, 09:10 PM) XOP (or USO) - this one correlates more to Crude Oil price. (3x leverage is GUSH/DRIP). Just look at the huge run up for DRIP with these last 2 months. uso/xop... ok. gush, drip... hardly any volume. hard to trade... my fav's are dwti, uwti, sco, uco - great volumes! QUOTE(yok70 @ Aug 6 2015, 09:16 PM) it's quite scary to trade oil now, at critical edge....can up can down anytime. u gotta get glued to the screen. can't leave it alone it when u have open position!
