localization for NTSC/J korean release is on-going it seems

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools

maybe it'll release worldwide with many language tracks? - english, japanese, korean, chinese, french, italian, german, spanish, etc.

Yesterday Blue Dragon have finally got a US release date...Horay! It will be launch in August with "huge" downloadable contents promised...Japan have had 2 DLC so far...the Christmas gift thingy and the latest gameplus mode...the other cool stuff would be new dungeons and game tweaks such as randomized enemies and treasure...

weird that the US localized (dual language tracks) version is coming in august. the chinese language asian version still has an ETA of MAYXX IINM.

haha, hopefully the coming DLC are NEWly created contents. the previous 2 DLC was just unlocking-content keys (<200KB keys). maybe they intentionally schedule the DLC to prolong interest in the game?

Blue Dragon Japanese DLC Update:

16th Feb 2007:

New Game+ Mode
- Selectable difficulties between Normal, Hard and Super
- Enemies in Hard mode deal double damage, Super mode gives all enemies 50 extra levels

March 2007:

Six New Items
- Fickle Heart: Randomly increases a random category by 0 to 4 ranks
- Thief Heart: Steals the rare steal from an enemy
- Devi's Gramophone: Camp-use item. Plays the Devi Dance song.
- Nothing Glasses: When equipped you can see all Nothing Points marked with a star.
- Shuffle Helm: Magic Offense +40, Agility -40. Is there a secret?
- Spring Breeze Scarf: HP +20%, Agility +20%.

Spring 2007:

Shuffle Dungeon
- Random generation type dungeon
- New monster types (Including an evil female pirate that looks like Zora)
anyone playing superhard mode? been holding off replaying the game, waiting for Nothing Glasses. i think can save alot of time, no need re-examining every little corner in the environments. tongue.gif

/on another note, mistwalker is aiming for simultaneous X'mas release of LO in the US and Jpn. this must be the 1st JRPG released with dual-language right out of the gate? so will it take 3 dvds or more?

hahaha..im still have 2 major quest before i do the last dungeon...the rare monster and dragon quest...so have yet to play the new modes...anyone have tried this?

those new updates really sound interesting especially if u want to get all shadow to lvl 99... thumbup.gif

PS: Any good bari barrier area? the only enemy that give 5 SP is the golden poop ( but so slow to appear even with scent? )...is there anymore?

so far i got 2 good are that have 3SP - Sheep Tribe -Lal Mountain and Kelaso Village...damn tired to lvl up... rclxub.gif

hohoho, for a 1st time playthrough, dont lvl up high-high b4 taking on the last dungeon lar, it will make the last boss too easy.

make a save, finish the last dungeon and enjoy the ending. then go back to the save and go for the rare monster and dragon quest. i think 3SP per bari is the max liao. LoL, some ppl use the auto-fire controller/rubberband trick to auto-lvl themselves.

i miss alot on my 1st time playthrough (dint even manage to defeat the 2nd dragon sweat.gif ) was going for a 2nd playthrough but all this coming DLC makes me postpone it.

have to...i'm doing a game guide as i play thru the game...the bari barrier doesn't give u exp..just SP for shadow leveling...if not, semua sudah lvl 99...hahaha..so LVL wise, im ok...

I agree..+3SP is the highest for normal monsters...but on the Southern Deserted Island there a golden poop ( achievement - rare monster ) that will give u +5SP.

I would probably play it again after the new DLC comes out...

I believe the highest SP can be obtained from the rare platinum snake poop, 8sp if I am not mistaken at the South Western Deserted Island. Its where I spent most of my time shadow leveling up after Kelasor.

Have tried out the super mode and even with my whole party being at level 99, it was already a challenge early in the game. Most probably will replay the whole game at super once I get the March downloads.

Also really must finished off my extremely long overdued guide which I am owing to a few people. Guess its the problem of having too many consoles and tight workload early in the year!

erm, the gamefaqs story translation by spookychee is almost finish (upto disc 3) rclxms.gif icon_idea.gif

gameplay help, theonejin have a item/shadow/category faqs/translation. bluedragon also have a few tip sites

http://www.bluedragon.vc/index.html
http://k-rpg.jp/bd/index.html
http://blue.deepeasy.com/

can use google language translator to roughly help u

but anyway, playing it on easy diffficulty without understanding a word of japanesse presents a good enough challenge. just rmb to attack, black magic attack, heal, revive & support. the game will save b4 all boss fights, so u can keep retry with different strategy after learning boss patterns. i think i game-overed more than 20 times, and i admit i did get stuck a few times. tongue.gif tongue.gif

if u are playing with a printed gamefaqs, can try starting with hard difficulty (all monsters deal 2X damage). but those secret, optional bosses damn hard and getting all achievements also damn hard cry.gif cry.gif

a blue dragon (chinese version) and a blue dragon (korean version) should be coming soon. ETA was listed May something.

speculation time: my gut feeling is the the blue dragon (chinese version) will have jpn voice acting (and possibly chinese voice track) with chinese subtitles and english subtitles. this version will be on sale in HK, TWN and SGP. the US version has dual language but coming in august. i'm sure MS won't enforce a region-lock to prevent in from playing on NTSC/J Asian sets

the best thing abt blue dragon and the other mistwalker project LO, is that the publisher MS is willing to spend lots of money on it, getting in ready for all the different languages to release worldwide laugh.gif laugh.gif

You don't really need to fully understand Japanese to play this game....the storyline are very linear...except when u finally get the flying mechat..it would be great if you do..then you will understand the storyline and the full dialogue...

The manual also have the basic menu and battle system explained...faqs and guide are best used for additional quest or sub bosses and those crazy achievements that u might missed!

P.S - the 3rd DLC for Bdragon have been announced...it will available tommorow (gold) - 16th onward ( silver )
