Hi,
I want to unsubscribe from the free spotify premium, how do I do that? The FAQ said used the my maxis app but I can't find any unsubscribe info.. Please help tq..

Hi bluespot,

If you are Maxis postpaid user, you can proceed to unsubscribe the Spotify via http://m.maxis.com.my/spotify from your device browser. Please make sure that you are connected to the mobile internet and wifi is off while doing that.

However, if you are a #Hotlink customer, your subscription will be auto terminated after 30 days activation.

Unsubscribed on 12.9.2015 and received a sms stating that successfully unsubscribed. Received another sms on 12.10.2015 stating that spotify subscription has been terminated. 23.10.2015 sms received stating spotify renewal in Nov is RM9.99/mth.

As long as you have unsubscribe from Spotify and received the confirmation sms, you shouldn't be worries. The sms they sent recently is just to notify us the free spotify promo will be ended as at 31 Oct 2015 and there will be charges for usage from Nov onward. blush.gif

Understand that the free Spotify Premium promotion going to end on 31 Oct 2015. As subscriber of Spotify Premium, I do not find any clear step by step instruction on how to unsubscribe the services. Please provide information clearly so that user do not feel cheated where the unsubscribe process was not available in official Maxis Site.

You make this sound straight forward, but have been try the link but no unsubscribe option availede!. Is this the way how Maxis charge their customer?

Have being calling a few time already. The issue is the Maxis unsubscribe option is only work on stock browser. Using Chrome browser in Android will not display any unsubscribe option. I do not think any Maxis C'S know about this issue.

Manage to unsubscribe using stock browser.

The given link only applicable when internet connection using mobile data. It doesn't work on wifi.

Maxis please clearly specify this when customer asking for the solution.

Had the same problem, still trying to resolve that with sportify to cancel my "subscription". I was informed by the stupid CS that to unsubscribe, one would just need to log out from Sportify, hence taht's what i did.

This month i decided to just check thru all my previous card statement and realised i've been charge directly by sportify for $14.99 since July.

Even the stupid Maxis app running on Android Nexus 5 does not have the sportify logo/banner as stated in maxis website.

What a load of rubbish

For SONY devices user, to unsubscribe the MAXIS SPOTIFY PREMIUM, you might try out the steps below, i.e:
1. Turn on your mini apps browser,
2. Access http://m.maxis.com.my/spotify ,
3. Now select <SUNSUBSCRIBE>,
4. Lastly, continue its unsubscription steps afterwards.

P/S: You might try this if the google chrome(default/stock browser) doesn't work well. icon_idea.gif

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE USING THE MAXIS MOBILE DATA TO PROCEED THE FOLLOWING STEPS 1-4 ABOVE!

OMG Took me 2 hours trying to figure out wtf's wrong with my mobile device browser. Stupid maxis, first they sneak up on me (well they did send ONE SMS to warn me but who the fuck reads their SMS after all that spam?) and charge me rm9.99 after the free subscription ended..

MaxisONE plan 128, MaxisONE plan 158 and MaxisONE plan 188 customers gets it for FREE while enjoying more than 15GB of free Spotify data (not applicable for song browsing, which includes scrolling through albums and playlists with artwork)

agree the CS have no idea what exactly is going on, and the maxis guy here trying to be helpful but can't do much also.

i am at the spotify page, i can edit my spotify info in the web. referring to the guide i should be able to find "unsubscribe" under the "subscription and payment" page in spotify web page. But the option is not there.

what do you mean by using own data? i am not using wifi, i am using maxis LTE.

Why cant they put clear instruction in FAQ.
Details such as must using mobile data, or incompatibility with most popular browser ( Chrome ).

Step 1: Turn off WiFi, make sure mobile data enabled.
Step 2: Access link m.maxis.com.my/spotify.
Step 3: Click UNSUBSCRIBE.


I presume above link works on all kind of browser ( including iOS ).

I know they dont like customer to unsubscribe services, but dont make it difficult for user. It leave bad taste in mouth for their existing customer or potential return customer. I cant wait for my 2 years contract to end by this Sept and immediately port to other telco ( Maxis supporter for over 5 years ) doh.gif

If you are user that subscribed to rate plan MaxisOne 128 and above, your mobile data won't be consumed while you listening to Spotify.

Thanks for this. Calling 123 did not help at all as the rep just asked to go to m.maxis.com.my/spotify

Incognito did the trick. Perhaps a good idea to add that tip so that calling 123 actually helps.

Is maxis banking on this rm10 for getting a surplus on their check book? This is my 3rd month in trying to unsubsribe from spotify premium but to no avail. I am still receiving the rm9.99 renewal charges.

Heck, i even walked in Maxis Store and they couldnt even assist in unsubscribing it.

Hi, I was unable to find any Spotify banner.. All I see is the banner show free Spotify premium with more than 15gb but when I click on it..it directly take me to maxis web and there is nothing I can press at there. I have logout from my previous existing Spotify free version user.
Please kindly advise. Any solution?? Btw I just change my plan for maxis one 128 early this month.

Yes, you are actually in the right step. However, please make sure that you are connected to the mobile data and turn off the wifi connection in order for it direct you to the WAP page (m.maxis.com.my/spotify) instead of (www.maxis.com.my/spotify). If you are using Chrome apps, please manually go to the WAP page (m.maxis.com.my/spotify) by using a private tab. The option of the Spotify subscription will be available in the WAP page given. Please refer http://www.maxis.com.my/en/personal/plans/maxis-spotify.html for further info.

Please be informed that after you have unsubscribed the end date will still be active. As per screenshot your Spotify is unsubscribed however will still be active until the said date.

You can unsubscribe Spotify Premium via this link m.maxis.com.my/spotify but make sure you turn off Wifi and connect using Maxis mobile data.

i received a sms saying the spotify premium is ending in 23 October 2016, next renewal will be at RM14.90.

as i was about to unsubscribe before the renewal, i received another sms " my subscription has been renewed.

for iOs safari u can open the page at private mode:

m.maxis.com.my/spotify

it wont direct u to mainpage and u can proceed to unsubscribe.

I also have the problem as above and i wanted to unsubscribe it. When i off my wifi, use safari (when i click the link, it auto open with safari) , the page still open the same thing and i can't find any unsubscribe button for me as well. Been try for few times.. still the same pages. Please kindly advise.

Same here today, tried to access the page to unsubscribe,

Did all
1) Use mobile data instead of wifi
2) Tried using normal browser instead of chrome to m.maxis.com.my/spotify and got to redirected to the normal spotify page
3) Tried using chrome incognito instead to m.maxis.com.my/spotify and same thing redirected to the normal spotify page

Called customer service, twice:
1) The first one asking me to unsubscribe using the method above
2) The second one asking me to login to spotify and unsubscribe there

I didnt bother to call for the third time... i doubt that they know what are they talking about. So, until now, no luck in unsubscribing spotify

Hmm.. Maybe can close browser, off wifi, restart your phone, and go to your link. I did that as well. Probably i'm just lucky. If still cannot, call Maxis and f them lol.

You may follow the steps as per below to unsubscribe the Spotify Premium

1) Make sure the WIFI or Hotspot had been turn off from your phone, use only Maxis Mobile Data from the number had you sign up for the Spotify earlier
2) Click on the internet browser from your phone (Not PC/Laptop/Tablet)
3) Turn off the data saver if you using Google Chrome (Android) or reset the network (iPhone)
4) Manually type and access to <m.maxis.com.my/spotify>
5) You will be direct to the Spotify portal with the option to unsubscribe the service

Effective from 23 Oct 2016, the free Spotify Streaming quota (for Maxis One Plan users) had been changed to 3GB per month and you will only getting this if you subscribed the Spotify Premium service via Maxis

Hi, I m under mobile data.. want to unsubscribe Spotify Premium, but just can't find any button to proceed.. attached with screenshot

But I want to unsubscribe but can't see the unsubscribe button as u mentioned..

Call customer service, tell them to cut it off for u. No point asking here or asking them in fb as they will keep on repeating the same crap like switch off wifi la, clear cache la, they only know how to copy and paste.

My spotify is currently a free account.
But i could not subscribe to the spotify family plan as it says that i am subscribed to other store eg. Mobile operator.
I am using hotlink, but the account had already been changed to free account.
Please let me knownthe solution as i am currently at oversea and i wont be able to using my hotlink data to unsubscribe it

I'm not sure.. I got the free spotify premium by subscribing to the 1GB data monthly.
It ends when the spotify promo ended by maxis/hotlink

If you are using Hotlink Prepaid, the Free Spotify Premium will auto change to Free Spotify after the promotion ended as at 23 Oct 2016

Hi, I have successfully unsubscribe at 27 March and received message stated that service will last until 3 April. However the bill today still charge me for Spotify.

Can you explain?

Will next month bill still charge me?

If this is mistake, will I get it back? Is there a lot of follow up to do? do i need to follow up for few hours a day? do i need to drive to maxis center? or need to go maxis headquarter at KL? Im from Penang. If so, do I need to bear the transport fee myself? how about my annual leave for this trouble?

Hi, the Spotify monthly charge follows your first day pf subscription. If the last renewal has already been charged, that would be the last charge - as there is no renewal anymore.

Eg:
Last Spotify renewal date: 4th Mar
Bill cycle: 28th Mar - Charged
Bill: 28th Apr : Not charged

Trust this clarifies.
