Yes,must be facelift version.
It's new front reworked bumper, replete with a Passat-esque chrome strip and fog lamps,
other external changes include smoked headlamps and revised taillamp graphics. The rear bumper has been restyled slightly and now features reflector strips on the lower portion.
Inside, updates include the adoption of a Mk7 Golf-derived squared-off steering wheel with phone controls on the right side. MDF is also redesign.
New steering looks as bellow:

Any build quality issues? And are the fuel savings significant enough? Any features that you wish they had on the Polo?

Earlier this morning, started up the engine and drove for like like only 500m, all of a sudden the temperature blinking light pops out with a constant ring... well I shut down the engine and restart again and drove all the way to Selayang from Cheras without any problems (the temperature light did not pop out).

Anyone can rectify this matter?
I'm driving a Polo Hatchback 1.6 2015, 23000KMs done, next service would be 34k.

Greatly appreciated. rclxms.gif

30k/24months service. the list for my service as below:

- rplcmnt:
--engine oil
-- oil filter
-- drain plug washer
-- air filter element
-- dust & pollen filter
-- spark plug

- gff/guided function

-sundry:
-- lubrication of battery terminals
-- lbrcation of all the door hinges
-- lbrction of 4 windows run channels
-- lbrction of under carriage bushes and joints
-- lbrction of key cylinders

- perform AC service:
-- remove/recharge ac
--refill compressor oil,
-- moisture removal
-- clean evaporator cores/ac filter
--leak/temperature test & interior bacterial cleaning + air refreshening

i thought that should be standard for all vw schedule maintenance service right.
im not sure if all the services are required or not to keep you from avoiding the warranty..
anyone knows? or can we choose? sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

for the quotation,

air filter (1) = rm138
oil filter (1) = RM69
spark plug (4) = RM220
pollen filter (1) = RM107
screw (1) = RM11.50
Engine oil 5W40 (3.3) = RM224.40

i believe the major one was for the AC service. sweat.gif

and i change the front wiper as well, it cost me RM200 for 2. that excluded from the RM1400.

so, total cost for me RM1600. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

they said that the maintenace cost for polo HB is higher than other model. sweat.gif sweat.gif

thanks for that.. thats what make me wondering, if the table is still reliable or not..
i asked the guy there as well, what is the cost for the next service,
and he said that the next one will cost around RM1K (as compare to that table, it should around rm600 only
but i noticed that the next service will not count 15k mileage interval, but 20k of mileage interval.

it makes me confuse more sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Earlier this morning, started up the engine and drove for like like only 500m, all of a sudden the temperature blinking light pops out with a constant ring... well I shut down the engine and restart again and drove all the way to Selayang from Cheras without any problems (the temperature light did not pop out).

Anyone can rectify this matter?
I'm driving a Polo Hatchback 1.6 2015, 23000KMs done, next service would be 34k.

Greatly appreciated.  rclxms.gif

for the maintenance, do we really need to follow exactly all replacement items they listed? cannot de-select items? for eg, dust and pollen filter, spark plug replacement @ 30k km seems too early, can we ask them not to change until next service? will they tell you it would "void" warranty?

i had my eye on 2014 - 2015 used polo sedan, last time saw there's overheating or coolant leak issue, any technical fix we can ask SC to do to prevent it?

if it is still under warranty, i believe they can fix it..replace some part of it or maybe they will replace the whole part of it.. just like my polo aircond compressor

How about the service? You follow their replacement list without de-select any item?

Yes, I noticed polo sedan aircond seems not so cold, tried a few units seems same... Was it slow to cold compare to Toyota and proton?

I just follow all item listed.. no de-select.. maybe u can try, and update here later on if the warranty will be voided or not..hehe

compare to my proton gen2 aircond, proton aircond is better.. but maybe because polo have auto-adjust for the blower..thats why i think it is a bit slow to cold..

Oh, you are driving gen2 previously as well... How polo sedan compare to gen2? During my test drive I found the acceleration slower and smaller legroom on driver seat... No foot rest

it is hard to compare, because my gen2 is 6 years already..
but i think i like polo more.. acceleration i think polo still better than gen2, especially when u use the sport mode..

under low speed, with standard mode, i like my gen2 more.. but for high speed, polo is better.. especially on highway..
but, not i feel like flying..haha because im using polo hb, so it's a light car for high speed..

yeah, the space is a bit smaller..
mybe u should wait for the new jetta.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

My car reaching 1 year in few months.
So far only one time only went to SC for service 15k KM.

Overall car condition is good, accelerate as it supposed to, 190km/h no problem, but I noticed now when braking from high speed the steering start to shiver. Previously it was just fine.
Is this because of uneven disc brake surface? Or something else??? :3

And there was this one time I was driving, suddenly check engine warning light came out. I was driving at 30-40kmh and it suddenly popped out.
So i turn off the engine, and restart, then it gone. No more warning light came out later.

Hurmzzzzz i wonder why

at low speed polo tend to shift quicker to higher gear and limit engine rev.
for fuel-saving stuff VW said flex.gif

the best f/c i got around 6.4-6.5l/100km

2 questions..

1. What and where is the best sc in kl or pj? I heard the new one at hartamas is quite good. I've been to old klang road, damansara perdana and both are terrible

2. Anyone getting VW number plates and planning to interchange it on their existing car ?

yes brake juddering is a common problem for vw polo... its under warranty as factory defect... some service center will tell u its a wear n tear item and u need to pay... just leave and go to the next SC... problem with VW SC is they have double standards...
they will measure the deformation of the disc and hub... if its out of spec, they will replace the disc, pads and hub assembly... all under warranty...

In this case dont buy. mine is less than a week by now. feels strong vibration on the steering wheel once speed reaches 120kmh. That should not be the case for VW. Maybe something is not right.

My VW Polo bought in April 2015
Original battery died and replace for FOC on 16-Feb-2017 biggrin.gif
The replacement battery died on 5-Feb-2018 (less than 1 year from the replacement date above). mad.gif bangwall.gif

Volkswagen Service Center (Puchong/USJ) says CANNOT REPLACE because the battery warranty period is 24-months from purchase date. vmad.gif

That means any replacement battery within the first 24-months has ZERO warranty !! (if it was replaced on the 24th month). BEWARE such tactics ! devil.gif devil.gif

Additionally, the standard 12-month warranty applies only if I paid for replacement battery

VW car reg before Sep 2016, battery warranty is 2 years. After Sep 2016, battery warranty is 1 year only.
2 variant of VW battery I've seen installed on polo - Sebang Korea or Exide Spain. My Exide Spain also dead last year just within 2 years warranty window.

not too bad. any particular reason can't use "normal" battery that we buy for other cars? is it becoz higher amps?
*
Higher amp and also DIN sized, which has shorter height compare to usual NS sized. Even my gen2 also using DIN sized as default so the price of 300+- is actually acceptable for me. Of coz not the SC price is 700-800 bucks

all cars got problem one biggrin.gif
but they assured me that the past problem with slow service & spare part availability are taken care of by the new mgmt team. also, the MPI is much more reliable compared to TSI (becoz of non turbo & normal gearbox type). hopefully this is true la smile.gif

Just for info, 2018 VW Polo HB has the newer and bigger touchscreen audio unit.

Like Iriz and 2016 Persona, there's no lock switch for each door, only driver has it. I tried locking the door by pressing the lock button at driver's door (now the amber lock light turn on), then i try to open the passenger door beside the driver from inside, the door open immediately. Is this normal? becoz unlike Iriz you need to pull twice to open a locked door from inside, one to unlock and another to open.

Guys, my Polo car seat especially driver seat is lack of back support and causing my back pain for long driving journey. The car seat cushion is too soft and there is no lumbar support. Anyone here also facing the same seat back support issue?

so you are a stubborn person and enjoyed all this SC visiting experience? Good, then go ahead with next VW.
For me I rather get rid my polo sedan asap due to those frequent SC visit experience. nonsense of poor quality problem such as brake pad juddering, ECU bracket broke, steering noise etc. all this can be happen on higher mileage but it happened within 20k km of ownership which is unbearable for me. And no, time is precious for me I can't afford to go SC so frequently (even toilet break also hard to afford). laugh.gif

Hello anyone still up?

I just bought a used 1.4 GTI and start to calculate the FC.
Anyone knows the average FC?

Now im getting about 9-10km/litre for about 80% hgway driving, about 437km journey with full tank of RON95.

Hmmm
The car got 85k mileage when i bought it.

Hello and salam sejahtera, i am new here and i really need others advise on my polo 1.4 seg, 2009 cbu.
The problem is on the gearbox. First time it happened in 2016, replaced whole new set at kuantan vw sc. However, before the warrenty expired, the gearbox make a problem again. Sent to vw sc in pj, they only replace certain part (foc) with 2 wks warrenty, but 2 months later ie 2 wks ago, problem came again. And this time, the whole gearbox need to be replaced with full cost on us.
Please advise what to do😭😭😭

unless your car is pretty much new and are still under warranty period.
which area are you looking at though?

I'd like to know as well. The current model was released since many years ago.

iinm 2017 released outside Malaysia
currently we are only looking at CKD and most parts we're also getting from India

So, once India get it, we might have a chance.
Until then, we can only wish (or maybe gray import it hehe)

thing is, are you willing to pay for the hefty price?
grey import or CBU, it'll likely be circa RM160k tag. hmm.gif

If you're living near USJ, can try google Pomen Werke.
Many polo owners go there for interim service besides SC.

The shop owner also is using polo sedan haha tongue.gif

for older polo hb, there's no screen HU.
but if you're talking about the newer ones, yes it does support reverse cam.

first option is: you can do the external camera mounted near the plate or...
if you have money to splurge, can also do batch flip reverse cam.
