QUOTE(Rei7 @ Feb 23 2016, 04:41 PM) cool AMD win10 drivers have been buggy, corrupted my win10 due to lots of crashes. luckily I have my recovery disc so just reverted back to win8.1 and I think (maybe) it ruined my old Radeon R9 270 as well. now I got myself a GTX960. not much of an upgrade, but more of a replacement. wished for a GTX970 but nowadays price not so good just checking before I go back again to win10 |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Feb 19 2016, 06:40 PM) 980Ti struggles at 1060p60 on Rise of Tomb Raider and... lmao, Xcom 2. SOS please. I got around 40-50 fps playing 4k with my Gainward 980ti (slightly overclocked the overclocked card)If devs get their shit together, DX12/Vulkan starts being utilized and nvidia stop releasing shitty drivers, perhaps 4k60p with a single card is a very likely possibility. |

QUOTE(hazim95 @ Feb 23 2016, 10:57 AM) the best is still custom wc (way less constraints) but with some build plannings wc aio for gpu is not bad too (cheaper also). i cool my msi 980ti ref with nzxt kraken g10 bracket and corsair h110 (280 rad; installed at front of case); max at 42c under loads, room tempertures.note that there are things that you need to consider if you go for wc aio way with nzxt kraken g10. for instance, pick a gpu with a mid plate preinstalled (some models of evga and msi have it; better mosfet/vram cooling). besides that, the length of aio tube is fixed, so make sure you choose a pc case that can let you install the rad without stretching them. for aio with 120mm/140mm rad, the rad can be installed at rear exhaust. but in my case i have a h110, the only suitable location is at the front of nzxt h440. |

Hmm...didn't aware the bracket is support 980ti too, but i think it won't be cheap since it is Corsair product.I bought EK waterblock for 980ti ref card with the backplate cost around RM600++ before ringgit depreciated like nobody business, last week helping fren order EK waterblock for 970 strix with backplate cost around RM700++ |

Hi Guys,
Anyone running Windows 10 Pro having problem not being able to open Nvidia Control Panel with latest Driver 361.91 Windows 10 64 Bit WHQL? I upgraded from Nvidia 361.75 last weekend. After 1st boot, the NCP ran fine and I can configure my display with the control panel. But after I restarted my PC just a few times, I cannot open the NCP anymore. The Nvidia icon is there in the notofication tray, I can open Nvidia Geforce Experience, but when I click on Nvidia Control Panel, nothing happens. I tried re-installing the driver again (twice even using DDU to do clean install) but NCP only work first few time and after that, it wont open again. Tried from Windows Control Panel, same thing. Uninstalled my AVG AV and disabled Windows Defender, same thing. Now I have reverted back to Nvidia Driver 361.75 WHQL and Control Panel is working again. Just wondering if its just my PC or anyone else faced similar problem with driver 361.91 on Windows 10/ 10 Pro. I have no problem using the 361.91 driver on Windows 7 64 Bit OS on same PC. My PC spec: - Intel Xeon E5-2670 8-Core 16 Threads 2.6/3.3 GHz CPU - Aurora R4 X79 Chipset Mobo - 20 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM - 256 GB SSD + 1 TB WDC HDD - 2 x Asus GTX 970 Turbo OC SLI (PCIE 2.0 x16 + x16) - Triple Boot UEFI Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 64-Bit and Ubuntu Linux 15.04. QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Feb 24 2016, 08:23 AM) maybe a good news to you: 980ti ref /titanx can use mid plate from some of evga 980ti models that still follow standard pcb layouts. adjustments to install bracket are needed (eg. in the case of kraken g10, maybe don't install the nzxt padding thing at the back of gpu pcb, and getting a set of washers to cope with additional thickness due to mid plate). you can get such a mid plate from taobao. (sold separately, cheap)i use kraken g10 because it can be reused across generations of gpu. (it's just a bracket to hold things) when i used it with my 980ti ref, it was not even in the compatible gpu list yet. for those without mid plate, you can run the fan on bracket at full speed (don't use pwm; just connect it to mobo header; if you wanna keep using it by connecting the fan cable to gpu via a compatible y-cable, customize your fan profile accordingly with apps like msi afterburner). edit: oh i think you need a 1mm copper shim also. check out these videos - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weV0FlahyDo , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2SFSYl60jk This post has been edited by horns: Feb 24 2016, 09:35 AM |

I wonder if Pascal GeForce GPUs will be officially known as 1000 Series? So it's like... GeForce GTX 1080, GeForce GTX 1070 etc. Weird but alrighty.. This however will be a great time for Nvidia to 'change things up' a bit and discard the next figure of 1000 with perhaps a new name entirely.
QUOTE(destfull @ Feb 23 2016, 08:38 PM) SOS please. I got around 40-50 fps playing 4k with my Gainward 980ti (slightly overclocked the overclocked card) Hmm... close but if max out 50fps, then still not the magic 60fps. 4k 60fps on a single card still not achievable but upcoming Pascal could change that. Can't wait for the time when this is truly achieved without OC / default clock on a single GPU. QUOTE(Lurker @ Feb 25 2016, 04:25 AM) GTX 970. I moved from 680 -> 970 and it was quite a vast improvement, what more with a 670. I got mine for three figures back in the day last year (used GPU, prior to GST and stuff). |
