Off Amazon. It's the desktop I use back in the US. Didn't realize it wasn't available in the Malaysian market.

And yes, it's a top quality product which is backed by EVGA's excellent warranty service for ten years

Thanks for the info.

You'll need to figure it out yourself. tongue.gif Different cards have different headroom(?)to overclock.Like my R7 265,i can increase my core and memory clocks more compared to some reviewers.

You can OC both. But do core clock first.

For mem clock, Hynix and Samsung ICs should do 7500mhz pretty easily. Most Samsung chips can reach 8000 and beyond. Don't think I've seen any of those crappy Elpida on 980Ti/Titan X yet (correct me if I'm wrong).

After some researches i have decided to try nvdia this time and i got myself Palit GTX980 Jetstream.

Able to max out almost all of my games. Just GTAV and Witcher 3 can't max out if want to achieve 60fps

You play the games at 1080p?

Witcher 3 = you can adjust the hairwork settings with latest 1.07 patch.

Hairworks = on for all
Hairworks AA = reduce to 4X or 2x ( even none AA?)
Hairworks preset = Low
(Rest of setting = all ultra except population set to low, population low means max npc character in town is 75 at a time)

With my GTX 970, I notice when I turned the hairwork preset from low to high, GPU usage increases from 73% to 99% (HWK.AA. at 4x).
I overclocked my GTX970 to base clock of 1321Mhz (boost up to 1500+mhz) and VRAM effective clock of 8000Mhz which technically equivalent to stock GTX 980.
Now, you should know by now witcher 3 cutscene is rendered at 30fps by default (developer decision), go to My Document-->Witcher 3-->open "user" with notepad-->Add MovieUbersampling=false under [Visuals] section and change MovieFramerate=60. Ubersampling kills the framerate hard during cutscene.

As for GTA V = antialiasing set to TXAA 4X (MSAA 4X, turn on TXAA), Extended Distance Scaling sets to 70%, Grass quality set to high (very high and ultra tanks the fps too much), Post FX sets to High (cant see anything different with high vs ultra), Reflection Quality sets to high (ultra merely does extra calculation which doesnt contribute much to visual)

Asus needs to hurry the-eff up with the PG279Q already. From announcement at CES, to no news, to suddenly "watch out for news in Fall 2015" to now no news again. doh.gif

It better be good when it comes out... in fact I don't know what's actually keeping them. The PG279Q is basically the same model as the MG279Q, just with Gsync.
Jeez everything is there already.

quite a nice price sad.gif too bad im in penang .

Which one is better freesync or g-sync ? From what I heard freesync suffers from ghosting and limitation for refresh rate for example this mg279q is capped at 35hz-90hz

Gsync is capable of rates that range from 30Hz to 144Hz cry.gif

QUOTE
FreeSync Pros :
– Easier to integrate into a wider range of monitors due to lack of any additional hardware.
– Significantly less expensive than G-Sync, no licensing fees.
– Enables all the usual monitor features and display outputs.
– Gives users the option of V-Sync on or Off.
FreeSync Cons :
– Currently limited to six graphics cards and six APUs.
FreeSync Compromise (not a pro or a con) :
– Reverts back to the monitor’s maximum fixed refresh rate when the framerate dips below the minimum threshold.

G-Sync Pros :
– Compatible with a wider range of graphics cards.
G-Sync Cons :
– Requires dedicated hardware in the monitor and demands licensing fees.
– Limits monitor features, sound and display output options to DisplayPort.
– Measurably more expensive than FreeSync.
– Currently doesn’t give users the option to disable V-Sync above the maximum refresh rate of the monitor.
G-Sync Compromise (not a pro or a con) :
– Frame duplication extends G-Sync’s functionality below the minimum threshold but causes flickering.

If your graphics card can do high FPS without dipping to 40-50FPS and have a 144Hz, forget about GSYNC or Free Sync, I don't think you will miss much smile.gif
