why not go for lower card 970 or 980 its not that bad if gaming for 1080p

980ti kinda overkill lol at least for now . Unless you are talking about 1440p (just nice) or 4k gaming (need to lower some settings)
*
I am on 1440p, but 980 Ti only shine if you play a lot of latest games in highest settings...

980 Ti on Full HD - well it's gonna be blazing fast, you probably won't feel the difference between 980 Ti to 970, depending on game.

*
Yeah especially if the games are run at V-sync. I still find for performance over watts ratio, 980 is better than 980 Ti / 970...

Just got my Asus strix 980ti today. I can said the max temp on default fan setting running at 1404MHZ boost clock (gamingmode) is 75-76 celsuis in 41 % fan speed.it is very quiet. Next, i just adjust my own fan curve to 50-52% fan speed  which hv slighty audible fan noise but is very acceptable. The final temp is 68-69 celsius. DONT EVEN bother to increase the fan speed to 60% becoz is like blower Lol! Extremely annoying!  Oh, at last very very very minimal coil whine. Almost none. Sorry guys! Not gonna touch overclocking yet.

Where you buy and how much you got it for?

Do you think is it reasonable to sell my ASUS 980 Strix (used) at RM2k?

1.8k maybe people interested icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

Hahaha even at 2k I would need to fork additional RM1.4k to get back ASUS 980 TI Strix (comparing apple to apple) for 20% performance increase... doesn't seem to worth it... hmm.gif

Haha too bad then. I see quite a few only trying to sell at 2.1k but no takers... I guess I am gonna stick with my 980 then.

went full retard and bought Asus MG279Q cannot wait for XB270hu  cry.gif long waiting period (up to 1 month) got Ass Creed Unity and DLC as free game bundle together
the box kinda retarded as well for missing the Q but its the same model

dunno worth it or not in terms of price . But dayummmm the moment playing BF4 at 144hz feels like playing call of duty , will I miss G-Sync or Freesync ?

I dont know but IPS + 144hz is a whole new experience for me at least .

How much is this?

i'd rather spend money on acer predator.

980 to 980ti isn't as good as 980 + acer predator.

10-20% fps gains is nothing compared to 144hz refresh rate, gsync, 1440p resolution, 27'' IPS !!!

besides if you already got a 980 why get a 980ti ? when they just reported that pascal is next year 2016 with double the transistor count and most likely to have gains of 50-60% over a titan x ?

anyway get the acer predator you won't regret  flex.gif
*
Yeah but with 980 it is hard to achieve 144 fps at 1440p. Mine is just nice for 60 fps at 1440p for most games at full settings.

Hello guys..

Hope to get some opinion here..currently using strix980.. And a 1080 monitor..
Selling my 980 off and upgrading to 980ti? Or get the acer predator?

Im leaning toward the monitor as my current one isnt great.. If i get the 980ti , could be a waste using it on a dell nom gsync monitor right?
*
I thought of upgrading my 980 to 980Ti too. However even if I can sell of my current card at RM1900, I still need to top up additional RM1400 to get 980Ti Strix (Strix to Strix for fair comparison) and this is just for about 20% to 40% fps gain. For RM1400 I think it is much better to spend on PS4 hahaha

Test market with mine recently..lucky if u get 1.8k with it..haha usually lower..

That's why I think it is not worth upgrading it. Perhaps Pascal will offer much more improvement later...
