like previously mentioned...
the closest OFR dealer is in thailand.
both MY and SG do not have dealers anymore, so no stock anywhere.

I bet you can order from Bentey since the OFR is in the Fender catalog. Just give them the part no. and shove a bunch of bills in their face.

yea, go call bentley.
very interested to know how much they gonna charge for a OFR btw, about ordering from fender via bentley... couple weeks ago when i called, bentley told me next fender shipment will be in 3-4 months time, so if you dont mind the wait, you can place an order. I betcha bentley would overcharge the OFR. I've no doubt!!(maybe cos im really starting to get pissed off with their sales services). Dragonforce stuff?...OFR is indeed still the most favourite, but seeing as how the rr3 is a low profile trem, it should be alright i guess...but why abuse the rr3? im kinda scared that if you abuse the rr3 too much ala steve vai style or dragonforce style the whole plank of wood would just come out seeing as how the rr3 looks so....well...lets just say there aint much wood involved in it
And oh btw blacktrix, i think you already know about the "joys" of floyd rose when it comes to changing strings, so i say...get ready for the time of your life! This post has been edited by z3r0l33t: Nov 12 2006, 12:52 AM |

^ I made a visit to bentley's recently. Customer service upped a bit. At least they came and ask if I need any help, instead of just sitting around like the last time.

changing strings on a floyd rose is easy, once everything has been previously setup.
with enough experience, its possible to change them in the same time as any normal fixed bridge guitar. and setting up floyd rose guitars is even easier than those with tuneomatics or fender vintage style bridges. |

Well, interesting fact is that Sam Toteman aka The OTHER guy in Dragonforce uses an RR3 guitar and he certainly abuses the trem as well.... Only mods he did is probably just the pickups (DiMarzio Evolutions)

well, he used to use RR3.
its no longer listed on his page. but the RR3, well the pickups are obviously good enough. but since the trem is basically a LO-TRS, then i myself will avoid it. also just one thing you gotta make sure when placing an OFR in it. the distance between the posts. since the JT580 like the LO-TRS has the left side of the bridge where it rests on the post completely straight... the post distance might or might not be similar to an OFR. |

While setting up a Floyd is pretty straightforward, it is time consuming, especially when setting up intonation. Good thing is, you only need to do it once.
My best record for changing strings anf retuning on a Floyd is half and hour. I can do the same on a normal guitar in ten. Anyone that can change strings on a floyd (especially a floating one) and retuning it in ten must be the fastest floyd string changer in the world. Sam Totman uses an Ibanez V now, looks cool. Ibanez is going to unveil in next NAMM. The OFR is a direct drop in replacement. An OFR retrofits a LoTRS on an Ibanez without any modification and I don't see why it wouldn't be same on the RR3. One interesting note, I read about this before, one Jerry Donahue (head or R&D or somethign like that in Ibanez last time) did a Rockwell test on the LoTRS and discovered that it is as hard as a Schaller Floyd. If that's the case, the LoTRS should be a pretty decent trem. Btw, look what I found in my mailbox today ![]() ![]() |

Hi. I am interested in learning how to play the guitar. I have one question. Can I play musical notes with the guitar, like how we play a piano, flute, violin, etc. Cause one of my friends say that guitars can only play chords.

You should beat the crap out of that guy who said it..... Chords is basically a series of individual notes played together..... So if you can "chord" single notes, surely you should be able to play single notes too, right?
Soloing for example is MOSTLY the use of single notes played in a pattern, scale or sometimes just made up. So to answer your question.... YES. It is possible to play individual notes. As for my Pro.... I wanted to know someone who can help fix in a new Trem (If I get an OFR) AND set it up as well.... you guys listed a few sites to go to for how to tune and setup my trem..... can you list 'em down again? Thanks..... kinda excited this being my first FR guitar. And yes, I'm well aware that Sam Totman switched to Ibanez. It looks cool, but waaaaaaaay too expensive for me already. |

As for the set up, better save yourself some money and I can swap it and set it up for you the coming gathering. They charge quite alot outside to set up and tune an OFR guitar. |

QUOTE(MetalZone @ Nov 12 2006, 03:50 PM) Oh, you ordered one too? Got here di? I noticed on the packaging it was stamped 28 October 2006 by Malaysian Customs. It was mailed on the 20th from the States. The Pos Office here just plain sucks, took them two weeks to delivered it to my house. The build quality is really good for the bar, solid, lighter, and the brushed look is really cool. A good matched to my almost faded to chrome edge pro. |

No wonder why yours didn't come earlier considering u ordered it earlier. The Pos Office here just plain sucks, took them two weeks to delivered it to my house. It's really nice, just that the brushed look didn't look as brushed as I expected (as compared to the usual brushed aluminium). I didn't want it to be too bling anyway hehe. If possible I would have wanted it cosmo black to match my Edge Pro. Weights pretty much the same as stock to me. |

My Streamyx wasn't operational until the monday after raya. It's really nice, just that the brushed look didn't look as brushed as I expected (as compared to the usual brushed aluminium). True, the brushed look wasn't as brushed as I thought too. I was expecting like really worn out look but it's ok. Don't worry man, soon your edge pro will fade too match your bar I could have swore it was lighter. I guess I should dig up my broken bar to compare. |

I guess I should dig up my broken bar to compare. i have both in my hands, and it weights the same. This post has been edited by MetalZone: Nov 12 2006, 05:18 PM |
