Hi All,

First time posting in this thread but has been a long time reader of this thread.
I am new to FSM. Basically, i am new to unit trust investments and would love to get some guidance from the old timers here. Would appreciate any feedback.

My investment horizon is 10 years. I've done some readings and i came up with this portfolio below.
............

Would really appreciate if old timers here can provide your opinion.

Thanks in advance.

I am hoping for 7-8% annual returns. At least higher than EPF rate.
In your opinion, do you think this is achievable? I know we can't predict but is the expectation too high?
*
hmm.gif Looks achieveable...
but have a look at this...

Thanks.

how frequent do you guys re-balance your portfolio?
*
hmm.gif i guess no 1 answer can fits all...
it is up to individual....
sometimes, some markets are just to good to "enter", thus some people sometimes shifts from Fi to that markets...
sometimes, some markets are just too volatile to maintain, thus some people sometimes shift out of UTs and go to sleep.

rclxms.gif very true for me.....
hmm.gif while planning my initial portfolios...concentrated on too much past records of returns....
expected to hit 10% min (if all the selected funds of my portfolio "were" to perform just 80% of their averages...)
then the taper tantrum came....then talks of QE stoppings,....then Russia Ukraine things,....then North south korea things,.... then Fed rate talks,..... then Oil prices drops,......then RM falls,....then now Fed Rate coming,...then China growth slowed,.....then China Devalued,....then...then...then....
now XIRR is abt 2%...ha-ha...

wanna ask...
When you compute IRR, do you ignore the 'dividends'?
*
I dun know about others...but for me, I use Unit on hand (including given thru dividends) X Current NAV = Current value vs invested value ....

Hi guys, is it a good time to top up china fund like CIMB Greater China & RHB Big Gap China?

Will China market plunge further? What you guys think?
*
hmm.gif yes,..it is....
the index is now a 45% discounts since its peak....
will it drop further?,..YES also....

Do you have the stomach for it?..if not, try to allocate about 5~8% of it in your portfolio
if the fund NAV dropped by another 10%...it only affects about 0.8% of your portfolio value.

Else can try something like Asia x Jpn funds that has exposure to China/Hk too.....those fund would be less volatile.

in the meantime while waiting for more responses, try reading this...

sweat.gif sweat.gif 26% for single country "India"....i think is too much (every 5% of NAV drop 1.3% of your portfolio will be deducted).
may i suggest you breakdown your Asia X Jpn fund into individual country to see more details...

Lol I only bought three funds and it came out like this.  Haven't diversify my portfolio with multiple funds.

Titan
Manu india
Rhb x japan.
*
then much easier to see....
check the latest fund fact sheet of this RHB x Jpn....
then compare against the single country "star rating" provided by FSM (use it as a guide and only if you believes in it)
http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...tarRatings.svdo

then decide if you want to get a new fund to go into that country or not....

but i think (may be wrong) 26% in India is too much. (maybe i kiasi alot, thus my IRR is still 2%)
