QUOTE(highcourt @ Aug 30 2015, 09:59 AM)
1) If we invest in funds via fundsupermart, are we also increasing our risk because now we have to deal with the possibility of both fundsupermart and the funds we invest in going bust or mismanagement/default etc?

2) How are you so sure fundsupermart actually invest your funds? If you buy stocks yourself, they are recorded in CDS account. If you invest in funds via fundsupermart, do you get statements from the fund or from fundsupermart? hard copies or soft copies?
*
hmm.gif Yes,...there is an increase...(eventhough there "may not" be any material lost in the end but the hazzle and worry are just there)
hmm.gif but at what rate of increase and at what possibilities?
hmm.gif is this rate or chances of happening higher than me being knock down on the road or the birds spew some waste on me while crossing the roads?

so are many other things in life...
example,
http://www.china.org.cn/china/2010-06/21/c...nt_20308444.htm

but that does not stop me from using it...

notworthy.gif Thanks for highlighting it ...

btw,..hard or soft copies can also be "faked". doh.gif
on the extreme possibilities..
CDS records can also be faked...the real one are "mortgaged" only on paper balance are sent to you...if the records of the famous case of immigration record missing of a certain Mongolian and the OFF mode of large sum transaction warning light by central bank....can happens.....what is the possibility of thing not happening.....in the land of all possibilities... thumbup.gif

I am no serious UT investor....but I guess serious investors does not get into UTs much (maybe just a small potion of their portfolio)
just imagine having a million Uts portfolio (would be subjected to initial SC and AUM of 2% that is abt $20 000 pa mgmt. fees rain or sunshine).....
hmm.gif guess that is how most of the FH make monies
hmm.gif guess that "final" risk is just too little to be of concerns, when compared to other risk of UT investing as in
General Risks of Investing in Unit Trust Funds

Well, what a week that was. The Dow Jones – a narrow and pointless index if there ever was one – tumbled to an 18-month low only to regain much of its losses towards the end of the week. Meanwhile the tech-heavy Nasdaq index was heading back towards positive territory for the year.
But if you had tuned into any financial TV broadcast a couple of days before, you would have been forgiven for thinking the apocalypse had arrived.
So in short we were doomed on Tuesday, but everything was just hunky dory by Friday.

What will investors learn from it? If history is any indicator, virtually nothing.

What people refuse to accept is that all investors – from people with PhDs in finance commanding huge salaries at investment banks, all the way down to ordinary people playing with their little portfolios at home – are gambling. Perhaps it isn’t gambling in the same way that hanging around all day at the track trying to pick a winning horse is, but it is wagering all the same. Investing money in a company is a bet that it will perform as or better than expected – how exactly is that not a gamble?

Investors can't go blaming China if they blow it all betting with bulls

hmm.gif me a gambler? still in denial mode? sweat.gif

Recently read about 11 ASEAN funds approved as qualifying ASEAN CIS

I'm wondering which funds are these and how they can add to diversifying our portfolio.

Any comments?

It's not in the latest file yet, it's on my personal file tongue.gif

Currently it only captures the snapshot - i.e. no further analysis on the raw data. Too lazy to do anything about it first tongue.gif

The MoM and YoY got two section, one captures the snapshot of the WHOLE portfolio, and another captures the snapshot of each and every fund individually.

However, as I said, it's just a snapshot (i.e. rows of data in the previous screenshot), no further analysis is added (i.e. chart) in the file, yet..
*
ok.....
btw, I had included a chart for BETTER and EASIER visualisation ...just for SHIOK sendiri purposes biggrin.gif

since we are at this...can help how to reduce the spacing between the points in the chart?
now the point to point spacing looks like (double spaced)...which I think will affect the number of points in my chart.

I haven't been topping up my funds for quite awhile.

I wonder what did everyone here do for the past 3 months? Not those doing DCA.
*
hmm.gif during the last 3 mths..has, China mkts started to corrects, then China govt did some intervention, its mkts up a bit then correct again, weeks later China devalue... then weeks later global sell off, days later some mkts regained back its lost value......some countries continued to corrects due to China, Oil prices, rate hike expectation and internal problems
I guess during those time
some shifted out of UTs
some buy more
some are still waiting to buy at a lower value
some switched out to none country specific fund
some are still holding to the losses
some are still waiting and wondering where to switch to.

...just the some has too many possibilities.... tongue.gif

doh.gif in conclusion....I just don't know "what did everyone here do for the past 3 months? tongue.gif
