Been looking at sofas as well and really like King Living's Neo and Zaza. But are they worth the price?? You could get a good quality sofa for half their price though?
Anyone have reviews or after sales experience for king living and crown living?
I'm currently on the lookout for sofa's as well and have spent far too much time on this subject for my liking. I can't comment about Crown but can share some thoughts/research I've done on King Living:Anyone have reviews or after sales experience for king living and crown living?
- premium pricing in Malaysia, so unfortunately you won't find much feedback locally i.e. people who buy King Living are not on forums I reckon.
- main selling point is their metal frames, which they claim is anti sag and aesthetically will give a cleaner look. What I mean is that for sofa's above 2m in length, you won't find a middle leg below the sofa. Other sofa brands tend to have a middle leg to prevent sofa sag.
- based on reviews in Australia, you won't find any issues in relation to their sofa bases, legs and seat cushions i.e. very stable, won't creak, break, etc. However, as most of their sofa's use loose back cushions, these tend to sag after use and can look a bit off if you don't constantly air/puff your cushions. This is considered normal wear and tear so is not covered under warranty.
- they claim to offer 25 years warranty, but if I'm not mistaken, this covers frames and other solid bases only.
- admittedly, they have some of the most comfortable sofa's out there. My butt has sat on far too many sofa's to remember each one, but I can definitely remember sitting on the King Living Bellaire sofa. It's the most comfortable sofa that I've ever sat on. So much so that my wife has said that if she can't have that sofa, she wants me to get an Ikea sofa instead and nothing in between.
So are they worth the price?
- probably not if you're comparing against decent local sofa brands. Currently, I have a Cavenzi sofa which is around 10 years old, still serving my family well and it costs less than RM2k. For context, presently you could get a Rozel full leather sofa for the price of non-leather King Living one.
- they are worth the price if you compare against imported/premium brands such as Muuto, Wendelbo, Ambient Living, Bo Concept, etc. The prices are somewhat similar but with King Living, you get a metal framed sofa. Others tend to use wood/plywood.
Personally, I'm currently 70/30 in favour of getting King Living mainly because of the design and comfort of some of their sofas. I'm old so things like design, quality, comfort and longevity matter to me more than cost. But that's just me. My advice, sit on as many sofa's as possible and trust your butt
