Is anyone familiar with taxation on cryptocurrency cash-out? Has Malaysia implemented taxation on cryptocurrency yet?
*
googled and found this....
"......senior lawyer and tax barrister Dave Ananth — who also advises global information services group Wolters Kluwer on Malaysia’s goods and services tax (GST) — said the government will first have to define “cryptocurrency” for tax purposes in the country.
He points out that there is currently no specific provision for digital currency in the Income Tax Act 1967 and the GST Act 2014.
“As BNM has taken the stand that cryptocurrencies are not legal tender in Malaysia — a status shared by other foreign fiat currencies — the tax and customs authorities must decide on the tax and GST treatment respectively,” he told The Edge Financial Daily."

"For Malaysia, Ananth said the income generated by cryptocurrency exchangers such as Luno and Coinhako should be subject to income tax where appropriate."

Base on the excerpt, I take it that taxation on crypto hasn't been regulated yet? I am wondering if I were to cash out a huge amount (let's say 6-figures), how do I go about it with the bank and the taxman.

Hi All,

2017 I bought an office property and rented it to a company. Pintu Cukai and Fire Insurance paid by me.

Example (for year 2017): Rental Income (year) = 120,000 ; Fire insurance = 2,000 ; Cukai Pintu = 5,000 ; Loan Instalment = 130,000

Can I file insurance, instalment, and cukai pintu as expenses (under PCB)?

Statutory income from rents = 120,000
PCB = 2000 + 5000 + 130,000 + my own employment income

Like that???
*
hmm.gif my uneducated wild guess is NO....cannot do it that way....why bcos some may not be deductible and some are, also what is purpose of PCB for?
anyway, while waiting for responses, i googled some info about

how to declare rental income lhdn
https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+decl...chrome&ie=UTF-8

hope it can provides some info while you wait....

wow,...loan installment can ask for tax benefits meh? if can really good leh... devil.gif

Thanks.

Page 14 of this link. So it sounds like they are tax deductible.

Document dates back to 2011 though. I'm guessing it still holds for 2017?
*
do you mean (b)?
does it mention installment?
or only the word interest on loan?

Hi all, need some advice so hope I'm posting in the right place. I have just started working and registered for an income tax number on the 7th of May. All the guides online say that after completing the e-daftar form, I have to submit a copy of mykad using the Muat Naik button. Maybe the guides are outdated or something because I did not see that button anywhere. I also remember reading on e-dafter site that I have 14 days to submit the supporting documents or my application will be cancelled and I have to register again.

I checked my application today and it said that it was approved and they gave me a 12 digit income tax number and the branch name. Nothing about uploading the mykad. Do I still need to submit my mykad via the feedback form or fax or is my application considered successful since they already gave me my income tax number and branch name?

Thanks for replying. I saw that muatnaikdokumen.pdf too but unfortunately I think it's outdated because after I submitted, I never got the Muat Naik Dokumen instructions or button. I also didn't get the "Status: Dalam proses - Maklumat Tidak Lengkap - Sila Muat Naik Dokumen" part.

Basically I just registered yesterday, checked my application today and I got my income tax number and branch name straight away. Just so confused whether I have to submit mykad or not and how to do it if I have to confused.gif
*
according the info from the web....you are required to submit.....
try to click at "the envelope logo" of the image that you had provided?
looks like you can submit thru there too...

Thanks.

Q26: I have ceased my business two years ago and I have no more income but I am still receiving the Form B. Do I need to fill up the Form or just return it back without filling it up?

A26: You are required to complete the Form and return it to IRBM before the due date. Kindly notify the IRBM branch that handles your file that you have no more income and not to issue any Form B in the future.

in the answer did not mentioned how to notify, is it by way of fills up form and hand in to the branch?

Posted in /kopitam, but I see this section is more appropriate:

Curious how to start. I do freelance online, not registered business. Live with parents, they bank in money to my account to pay for our monthly bills. How do I declare this? How to deduct it in my borang BE filing? Thanks for the advice!
*
Q:28 of this looks appropriate to determine the "registered business" in the eye of lHDN...
http://lampiran1.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/FA..._11042011_1.pdf

on the parents gives money to pay your monthly bills......i agar agar guess, that would be under buiness booking/accounting section...the thing you need to prepare to summaries the profit or loss before your declare the earnings to LHDN....

May i know for individual who has 2 biz registration. biz A with GST registered, Biz B no GST, how to report on column when it ask whether can claim input tax?

Layak menuntut Cukai Input daripada Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia
My wild guess would be put in as "YES"
So, when file in biz income, is it total of biz A & biz B net profit?
maybe Q:32, page 16 of the link, can shed some lights...
*
while waiting for value added response, my uneducated wild guess would be as above...

Hello guys, i done my E-B filing on 25/6, and overpaid tax about RM15k coz last year I stopped doing biz since June 2017, how soon I can expect gomen to pay back. Another thing, do they need to audit if claim back more than certain amount ? Thanks people.
*
while waiting for responses,...I googled and found this....

https://www.nbc.com.my/blog/wp-content/uplo...hin-30-days.pdf

just not sure if it is still valid tongue.gif

i think there is no set refund amount or the available of refund or not refund claims, that will trigger the audit....
