QUOTE(spreeeee @ Feb 28 2019, 02:59 PM) say if using the same example.. and login to e-filing today, it auto shows sspn tax relief as 6k, should i accept it, or amend it to 3k? You should amend it. It's your responsibility to ensure that whatever you key in to the system is accurate. When audit arises, you can't push that responsibility to LHDN saying that it is auto-populate. QUOTE(spreeeee @ Feb 28 2019, 03:06 PM) i posted the question some times ago, need to confirm the following again: -Year 2016, I deposited RM6K, hence during tax submission in 2017, I can get tax relief of RM6K. -Year 2017, I withdraw RM3K and didn't make new deposit, hence during tax submission in 2018, I can't claim sspn tax relief. -Year 2018, I deposited RM6K, how much tax relief if I do tax submission in 2019? 6k? or 3k? Where is your SSPN annual statement for income tax? Please use that as the reference.

QUOTE(iruka @ Feb 28 2019, 04:26 PM) yes. I can't seem to find a table on the LHDN website. I believe you can estimate it. Maybe you check if BNM has daily historical price like xe.com or not.

QUOTE(spreeeee @ Mar 1 2019, 11:13 AM) i've checked with ptptn/sspn officer.. it is a net deposited $, so whatever was withdrawn and then deposited, cannot be counted for tax relief.. so 3k is the answer.. Of course we already know it's nett deposit (tabungan bersih).

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Mar 1 2019, 12:21 PM) I followed the invoice date. From Jan,2018 to Dec,2018. You're asking people to confirm but now you're saying you're following the invoice. I rather confused.

QUOTE(attentional @ Mar 1 2019, 01:52 PM) For SSPN, it's counted by year right? For instance for 2019 i deposit RM8k in Dec 2019 and i'm entitled for RM8k tax relief. Then I withdraw RM8k in Jan 2020 and I do not claim any tax relief for the year 2020. Then I deposit again RM8k in 2021 and I'm entitled for RM8k tax relief for 2021? (let's assume tax relief remains the same at RM8k) SSPN will generate an annual statement like your insurance premium payment for tax relief claim purpose somewhen in mid March. Use that to guide for your tax filing.

So? That is just definition of broadband. It didn't explain or provide example if your wireless broadband plan is bundled together with voice and SMS in a single price tag plan right? QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Mar 1 2019, 05:59 PM) guys, I want to ask about personal relief for parents as such from the LHDN website: Parent Limited 1,500 for only one mother Limited 1,500 for only one father So basically I can just claim RM 3,000 without doing anything? Yes. But if you have siblings, you have to discuss on who want to claim or divide equally.

QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Mar 1 2019, 06:53 PM) I see Hmm this is a sensitive issue. Haha I wonder should I amend my prior years assessment Any advise? Subject to audit? Haha Since you have to key in your parents NRIC, I believe it's traceable and auditable.

QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Mar 1 2019, 07:04 PM) Okay. But if I submit an amendment for prior years YA Will they audit me straight? I think no need to amend. If audit, that is considered as random bad luck. What you have to do is to do correctly starting this year filing? I'm not sure if you can still submit amendment for yester-years.

I can’t able to claim for my dad part but were thinking to claim for mum part. Can I claim my mum part while my dad still working and put my mum together for the income tax? Thanks You can claim your mum part only as your dad doesn't meet requirement.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Mar 2 2019, 02:20 PM) Cause I have no idea how suddenly LHDN came knocking on my parents door (send a letter) asking us to declare their rental income. Padahal, tak pernah declare before this. So don't know how they found out. My guest is using an agent to find tenant. If you're have rental income (renting out your owned property), obviously you need to declare. If you're renting somebody property or room, I never such thing of claiming tax deduction/relief.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Mar 3 2019, 09:39 AM) That's why you are given a lump sum of RM9000 tax relief, to buy petrol, buy food and get a place to stay. RM 9000 / 12 = RM 750 per month RM 750 enough for rental and food?
