Guys and gals, just curious, if let's say my house not rented for a few months. Is the other expenses like mortgage interest, assessment fees, and etc still can deduct from my rental income?
Example:
Rental: 0

Mortgage interest: 1000

Asssessemnt fees: 60
Can put that month i actually lost RM1060?
*
Everything is calculated in annual basis.
If you have rental income l in few months, you have to declare it.
Of course, you can offset the expenses only if you declare the rental income.

If your rental income cannot cover your expenses, I believe you just put 0.
Negative number cannot be entered into the system (e-BE).

Thank you. Hence, when I declare I can deduct all the above too.  rclxms.gif

I thought I would lose those few months coz I didn't have tenant after tenancy expires

When audit time, I believe you need to prepare simple balance sheet of your rental income.
You can google for some samples online.

Yea I prepared those. Now they want to audit other years and it's a headache to me as I dig my documents and try to prepare the spreadsheet.

Not sure what can be deducted and what cannot
*
Documentations need to be kept for at least 7 years.

jz want to measure.. is tax relief better than 6k put into fd of 4% interest p.a.
*
Let's say you're at 21%/24% tax bracket.

RM 3k of PRS will give a tax saving of RM 630 at 21% or RM 720 at 24%

RM 3k in FD with 4% FD gives you an interest of RM 120 per year.

Need help...

If a Sdn Bhd income has been taxed at corporate rate, and then give dividend to the shareholder, will it be considered as income for the shareholder also and subjeted to personal income tax again?

Anyone can explain what is single tier system?

Thanks in advance!
*
The dividend given by listed company has been taxed at corporate rate hence no longer subject to personal income tax including claim of tax rate difference treatment.

Thanks. How about if it is not a public listed Sdn. Bhd.? Same?
*

If they're adopting single tier taxation, I believe should be applicable.

PTPTN will provide you with the annual statement.
You need to show that in case being audited.

Previous ruling on Sports Equipment for Sports Activities is still applicable.

In fact, they just combined several reliefs into 1 single relief.
They just widened the scope to include broadband subscription, gym subscription and smartphone/tablet.
Therefore, previous ruling on respective clause are still in effect.

Actually was talking about normal shoes. Not sports shoes. Like working shoes.
*
Of course NO.

If being audited, you'll be sure being asked under which clause you try to claim that.

Like that I can claim my working attire too including my blazer or coat. doh.gif

Thanks for your reply.

I've already checked my e-lejar and frankly, i dont understand it much.

Baki Cukai: -5xx
Bayaran Belum Boleh Guna: -5xxx
Baki Lejar: -5xxx      <--------- Total of Baki Cukai and Bayaran Belum Boleh Guna.

Everything is in negative.

What does this mean?
*
Negative == what you had paid via PCB
Did you click on the year to see the details in row by row?
Did you able to see if you have duplicate deduction/payment?
