It is good for you, that you had good experience in dealing with Maxis, regarding the tax relief on monthly mobile plan subscription.
My experience with Maxis is just unpleasant.
Starting from this year, Maxis will provide Annual Summary of Invoices, upon the request of Maxis customers. However, the Annual Summary of Invoices does not show breakdown of monthly commitment fee for mobile data only, and is not helpful to me.
1) When I asked Maxis to provide the breakdown of monthly commitment fee (for example, 40% of monthly commitment fee is for calls, 20% is for SMS and the remaining 40% is for mobile data), Maxis refused to entertain my request, and maintained that the monthly commitment fee is for bundled service of calls, SMSs, and mobile data, and thus separate breakdown of monthly commitment fee for mobile data only cannot be provided by Maxis.
2) Maxis vehemently insisted that the tax relief for payment of monthly bill for internet subscription is strictly for pure internet subscription, such as Maxis Fibre, TMNet Unifi, and so on. Maxis maintained that the payment of monthly bill for mobile data (for handphone) is not eligible for tax relief.
However, when I read through e-Filing Explanatory Notes issued by LHDN, LHDN does not differentiate between the internet subscription for either home internet, and for mobile phone internet. As such, going by LHDN Explanatory Notes, the payment of monthly bill for mobile data (for handphone) should be eligible for tax relief.Â
In short, Maxis is not helpful in this matter. To be on safe side, I have to forgo the tax relief on the payment of monthly bill for mobile internet subscription, due to lack of documentation and/or confirmation by Maxis.Â

Don't bother. If they want to do that as long as you got maxis statement just apply for it even if internet is below the statement date.
If lhdn asked, you said maxis gave me this statement. So I am submitting it based off the statement.
For me, I use hotlink prepaid and maxis hotlink have separated out internet and Lazada transaction. Hence I can't count Lazada transaction. If they didnt separate Lazada transaction, I will just use what they send me.
Anyway I send my hotlink prepaid plan statement to lhdn, they accept only. They didn't ask break down into calls or SMS or internet. I am not sure you are using hotlink or maxis postpaid.
Don't pening yourself so how many % is internet. As long as you have official bill statement from maxis, usually no issue.
Don't act so smart with lhdn. Act like normal people. If lhdn asked. They tell them how I know how much is internet and calls and SMS. I just submit tax relief on what maxis charge me. Unless lhdn ask for specific, you don't need to be specific. Usually they just want official statement. That's all to prove you are not lying about your income tax claims.
For me, they asked me I just send everything to them and let them sort out. You asked things from me, so I just give you what I have. After that they diam diam and acknowledge it's their fault as I have everything with me and reverse decision that I owe them money.
