Yes, I do have main job. If I total up my yearly P&L from my trading, it's around 30-40% from my yearly salary.

E.g.; if my yearly salary is RM100k, my trading income ~30 - 40k

Since my main job salary is more than trading income, no need to declare right.
*
For me, I won't declare. I only declare my active income + my part time job. That's all. This is because capital gain tax and dividends are not tax.

Friends, I have a dumb question.. for the laptop / lifestyle relief, if I buy from Shopee at RM2,620and after Shopee platform voucher discount (RM100)+ Shop voucher (RM5)+ Shopee coins (RM15), what do I put in the tax deduction? RM2,500 or RM2,620? Thx
*
You can't claimed higher than the limit. I will just claim based off final receipt price.

If I get a critical illness insurance from Singapore, can I still claim? Or the insurance must be bought in Malaysia?

There had been past postings by forummers mentioning that handphone or laptop purchased from overseas can claim...thus I would place my bets on a yes to insurance policy bough from spore too. Caveat emptor

Thanks. Cause for books I bought overseas and claim no issue. Not sure about insurance (kena audited once). Had to give them the receipt for the overseas book purchase.

According to this site.
https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/personal-fi...ly-are-not.html
"LHDN states in the Income Tax Act that the tax relief for sports equipment is only eligible for those used in sporting activities defined in the Sports Development Act 1997.

This means equipment like footballs, shuttlecocks, nets, rackets, martial arts weapons, fencing swords, electronic scoreboards etc. can be considered as sports equipment. Whereas jerseys and football boots are considered as sports attires and sports shoes, therefore, cannot be tax deductible."

Thus I would place my bets on a "no cannot", ...as a tracker is not an equipment but is just an accessories.

....just my bet thus caveat emptor

Thanks. I will message them and see. Hopefully can. Let's see if they reply. Lol.

Is your foreign-sourced income exempted from tax?
Has anyone declared their foreign income coming from foreign REITs?
So if i did bring back the dividend money but left them in a foreign trust under the broker, do i still need to declare?  rclxub.gif
*
The rule clearly state if being back need to declare.

What if it is in the broker's trust account?
And recycled into shares?
*
If money in Malaysia, guess so. Cause the broker is in Malaysia. It received the money in Malaysia. Then it reinvest it.

Best person to ask is go visit Lhdn and ask. tongue.gif

But i did not receive it in my bank account.  It could be in the trust account of the overseas broker?
*
Depend where is your broker located? I am not tax expert. Haha... I not sure if you are using Malaysian broker to buy overseas stocks.

I have another question, now for my spouse. She suffered from endometriosis (ovarian cyst) before and already went through treatment/recovered. She is now taking this hormone medication called Visanne to prevent regrowth of the cyst.

She already claimed the treatment amount last year. So for this year can she claim the medication under the "serious illness" part? I can't seem to find any information about this.
*
If serious illness = critical illness nope.

So if kena audited, need to give receipts for the whole year or LHDN request receipts for specifically for certain items such as books receipt in ur case?
*
They ask me for all receipts for everything I claimed. Prs, book receipt, internet bills.

I gave them all year. So they won't come kacau me.
