Guys may I know if EPF deduction from salary is counted into tax relief or we have to manually tambah RM6k?
According to this article, it says we need to topup additional RM6k for it to be counted as tax relief. https://www.imoney.my/articles/income-tax-g...assessment-2016 People here said salary deduction is counted into the RM6k tax relief. Thank you. |

QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 22 2018, 11:53 AM) Yup. Cause if not through saalry deduction, I am willing to put RM6k into EPFIf RM6k is counted via salary deduction, I won't bother putting inside. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Oct 22 2018, 11:57 AM |

QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 22 2018, 12:05 PM) Written as "including not throught salary deduction"....... So that means deduction from salary is counted?Which mean both salary deduction n non salary deduction contribution... If written as " not including throught salary deduction"...then it is some other thing already |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 24 2019, 03:20 PM) Latest TP1 form available at LHDN website Looks like cannot claimed much for the year 2019 (to be filed in 2020) http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...nit=6&bt_sequ=1 Strange there's no column for EPF (limit to RM4k) under Section C8 Refer to the TP1 form above as reference. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 29 2019, 06:22 PM) Previous ruling on Sports Equipment for Sports Activities is still applicable. Actually was talking about normal shoes. Not sports shoes. Like working shoes. In fact, they just combined several reliefs into 1 single relief. They just widened the scope to include broadband subscription, gym subscription and smartphone/tablet. Therefore, previous ruling on respective clause are still in effect. URL: https://www.imoney.my/articles/lifestyle-ta...he-bad-the-ugly |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 29 2019, 06:57 PM) Of course NO. If being audited, you'll be sure being asked under which clause you try to claim that. Like that I can claim my working attire too including my blazer or coat. QUOTE(MUM @ Jan 29 2019, 07:00 PM) Sports Attire Thought so. Thanks for confirming. This part has been a point of confusion and contention when it comes to claiming tax relief for sports equipment. LHDN states in the Income Tax Act that the tax relief for sports equipment is only eligible for those used in sporting activities defined in the Sports Development Act 1997. This means equipment like footballs, shuttlecocks, nets, rackets, martial arts weapons, fencing swords, electronic scoreboards etc. can be considered as sports equipment. Whereas jerseys and football boots are considered as sports attires and sports shoes, therefore, cannot be tax deductible. https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/Personal-Fi...ly-Are-Not.html |

QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 2 2019, 02:16 PM) I have renting room for 10 years and I never hear of such thing. Cause I have no idea how suddenly LHDN came knocking on my parents door (send a letter) asking us to declare their rental income. Padahal, tak pernah declare before this. So don't know how they found out. My guest is using an agent to find tenant.I thought you found loophole to share. |
