I believe no.

Medical treatment, special needs and carer expenses for parents (Medical condition certified by medical practitioner)-> RM 5000 (limited)

Medical expenses for serious diseases for self, spouse or child -> RM 6000
*
I did a Google search and it says it does but not directly from lhdn website.

But my question is I have fertility clinic receipts but not for IVF

*Increase in tax relief to RM6,000 for medical expenses including fertility treatment.

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...-2020-proposals

Under clause for Medical expenses for serious diseases for self, spouse or child -> RM 6000

Lim also added that income tax relief of up to RM6,000 given on expenses incurred for medical treatment of serious illnesses will be expanded to include expenses incurred on fertility treatment.

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019...-ivf-treatments

Receipts must be under your or your spouse name.

Yeah I found this but my fertility receipts are consultations and some fertility medicines with some test and scans

I think just try to claim

Thanks for sharing your comments

hey guys, I went to the LHDN portal and I want to submit a revised BE form for YA 2020 as I left out some tax relief for internet bill under Lifestyle.

However, I can only submit application for revised BE up to 2019.

Any idea guys?

Saw the reply already guys... Available from April 2021...

But do you think it is wise to revise my BE form for the extra claim of maybe RM140? hahaha I worry later I open a can of worms then kena audit and found more mistakes

It depends the RM 140 worth of it or not?
If you had paid tax of RM 40k, the amount is so petty.
But, some said RM 140 worth 5 to 10 sets of Happy Meal.
*
Yeah I know. But if you submit revised BE, will the tax officers review your submission 100%? Meaning sure kena audit?

They didn't review it at the point of submission doesn't mean that they won't audit you few months or years down the road later.

Good point.. I would also think those submit revised BE would have a higher chance to get selected.

Thanks for the heads up

hey guys, the amended form BE for 2020 could be filed already.

However, I just realised that I cannot change the total taxable income and it pops up an error that says that the revised total taxable income cannot exceed the figure from form BE.

Any idea?

thanks for the sharing of information! good to know.

Just booked airbnb hehe.

on the side note... i cant seem to find any invoice for the accomodation under airbnb.... does it qualify to be claimable?

Or it is only applicable for those commercial hotels only which usually issues official receipt / invoice upon payment.

Q: Are kindergarten fees eligible for claiming personal tax relief?

A:Yes, the kindergarten fees are eligible for claiming personal tax relief if the following conditions are met:
(i) fees are paid to a kindergarten registered with the Ministry of Education Malaysia; and
(ii) for a child aged 6 years and below.

https://www.yycadvisors.com/kindergarten-fe...tax-relief.html

Q: Ken has purchased a new laptop amounting RM 4,000 for personal use on 10 August 2020 and there is only one receipt. In his income tax return for Year of Assessment 2020, can he claim RM 1,500 under lifestyle relief and RM 2,500 under the special additional lifestyle relief for the purchase of smartphone/tablet/personal computer?

A: Yes, he can maximise the relief claim by splitting the laptop cost under 2 reliefs in his income tax return for Year of Assessment 2020 as he has met the criteria for the special additional lifestyle relief (up to RM 2,500):

Purchase of personal computer, smartphone or tablet for self, spouse or child use/benefit and not for business use; and
Purchase was made during the period between 1 June 2020 to 31 December 2020.
https://www.yycadvisors.com/purchased-lapto...ial-relief.html
*
So basically we are able to split the cost of one gadget to fully maximize it...

What if the laptop was under my spouse name... can I, as the husband claim it if the receipt is registered to my spouse's name?

Purchase of personal computer, smartphone or tablet for self, spouse or child use/benefit and not for business use; and

Just need a confirmation from another person to play it safe.

Another scenario: Possible to claim it using a receipt that is under my brother's name? He did not claim it in his personal tax filing...But I have the physical copy of receipt under his name....

Can I claim?
