I've just received a call from LHDN officer saying that based on my recent Semakan Khas audit for 2012, I will be penalized about 45% from the undercharged (or underpaid, I am not too sure) tax. This is for not having a receipt of computer purchase.
Q: How do we calculate the undercharged/underpaid tax? I want to calculate how much damage I have made.
Tq

Tq Hey bro, under S113 Incorrect returns - liable to a fine of minimum of RM1,000 and maximum of RM10,000 and shall pay for a special penalty of double to the amount of tax which has been undercharged. Don't mean to scare you, but this is from the act.

QUOTE(coldpuff @ Mar 31 2017, 10:29 AM) Ok. How do I calculate the undercharged figure? The amount you supposed to pay and the amount you have paid. That's difference - considered portion undercharged? Then, probably you can guess how much is the damage. But still, i am not 100% correct, wait for others to double confirm on this.

QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 30 2017, 09:49 AM) I think it should be eligible for claim as it includes smartphones and tablets now. This year they started this lifestyle relief, is the personal computer column will be replaced or it will still there?

I'm not sure if professional certification courses is eligible as that relief is meant for tertiary education such as full fledged degree/master/PhD in relevant field at approved higher learning institutions. Yes, and that's why you need to have receipt as proof of payment of your annual professional membership fee.
