QUOTE(Najmods @ May 31 2016, 01:53 PM) Vulkan might come later after a patch or two. I dont know what card to buy next. Whatever it is, baby comes first. I might buy whatever the cheapest I dont have anymore games to look for. I just play GTA V, from my testing the integrated HD 4600 could play at 720p low detail is good enough. Other than that I enjoy playing old games like Far Cry, Doom 3 etc which it could handle flawlessly. Come2 buy the 290x from me hahahaha u sound like wanna quit gaming for good , ur price very appealing but i have to decline so sorry. Btw will spread the love of your 290x great price.

USD 200 will be less than RM1k. Very good if performing like R9 390X. Lets hope the OC might be good hehe.

There are two versions though, 4gb and 8gb. I speculate that the $199 is the 4gb version. Also need to look at some benchmarks.

USD 199 for 4GB USD 229 for 8GB
Performance per watt seems a bit better compared to NV Maxwell.
Weird that the performance slide doesn't include what preset used at the footer.
If compared to available benchmarks from Ashes website, it seems GTX1080 @ 58fps for ashes is 1440p (Crazy) setting. R9 390 CF is 61fps.

I can finally feel good I sold my R9 290 for the starting price of Polaris.
Although not much difference in performance, RX 480 should sell like hot cakes as its more than capable to handle 1080p which is the most common resolution.
Noticed that the actual PCB is shorter than the cooler. Another Nano like GPU maybe?

I just feel that the 150watt TDP is a bit disappointing since that's within the range of 1070's TDP as well. should have been lower

My take is that the Radeons will cap at 150W but the GeForces will sip a minimum of 150W. Also I have a sneaking suspicion that most of the AIBs for nVidia will sell Pascal with 8+6pin as it looks like the GeForces seem to throttle a lot and not able to sustain its boost clocks for long gaming sessions. This means that the AIB GeForces wont be sitting at 150~180W as the Founder Edition cards. Polaris on the other hand, I believe wont throttle as much.
