Today I went to test drive both the M2 and M3 and I love them both! Now in a dilemma, don't know which one to get! LOL

But since it will be my wife's car, I'll let her choose.

I tried both of them. First the M2 which is brilliantly made for driving but felt smaller compared the previous generation model.

Then took the M3 GL ( no offense Beemers) for a spin. It's a easy choice after that.

M3 is car kinda a car that make you realise what it means waking up every morning and feel alive to drive. You can look at it for hours and still not get bored with it.

Sometimes life is too short, don't plan it just go with what you desire.

Not they forgot to include the on/off button. That is infotainment, and lot of your car setting is set from there, so you need always on it in order to function it well. If today that is only double din player, then it should have the on/off button.

Nowadays car not like before, no need off the player, or aircond before you off engine. The car is design for comvenient.

I tested both M2 & M3 and I still prefer M3 over M2 simply because M3 feels more comfy, more powerful and has more safety features. When I accelerated the M2, there was a burnt smell that came from I don't know where but definitely from the car. However, I wouldn't deny that M2 looks cute with nice color.

At the end of the day, its the choice of the driver. Happy choosing. thumbup.gif

The adaptive xenon headlights for the Mazda 3 is a different system where the beam will adjust according to the curve of the road. It is different from the adaptive LED headlights shown in the video above.

Treat the 'MUTE' button as the 'OFF' button.

Both almost the same after I sit into my colleague M2, for a segment B car, consider quiet and comfy.
Maybe because of the high profile tyre, personally I felt M2 is slightly comfort than M3 with low profile tyre, but overall, don't compare M2 and M3, different segment car. You have to compare apple to apple, not apple to orange.

Does our HS adaptive headlights system allow us to keep high beam on always? i.e. When there is car in front/opposite direction, it will turn off highbeam?

I felt that the M2 is faster off the grid in terms of acceleration than the M3. Probably due to a lighter body. It's much more nimble and agile. I took it down some windy roads and it went where I pointed the steering with no body roll, which was very impressive. Pity the steering is too light and didn't weigh up with added steering lock. Otherwise, I would have bought the car right there.

The M3 is definitely more powerful and quieter and when properly revved, the acceleration is more constant. I feel that it handles corners in a similarly planted way like the M2 but feels much more mature and the steering weight is better. If the Mazdaspeed 3 comes out, I would seriously consider it! drool.gif

So yes, I agree with Amras of Nargothrond, they are both very different cars.

@Berrylicious, if there's a burnt smell, it could be burnt rubber. You drive like Vin Diesel izzit? laugh.gif

I see. So that means our car will even auto switch from low to high beam when it can/should. Thanks Kenny!

Check the code at the side of the driver seat (bottom of the B-pillar), you will see a plate written with your car color code.

LOL.. Personally I'm the type who always look at something and regret not going for it with a little extra effort.

I just wanted to state that to a fellow forumer who were deciding between M2 and M3 based on size concern. ( again no offense to Beemers)

Hi, some small stones hit my Mazda 3's windscreen when driving, and I got a tiny chip and 1cm crack on it. Someone helped me fix the crack with a windshield repair kit but the small chip can still be seen sad.gif

Any recommendations? Anyone here suffered the same fate? If you have, what did you do about it?
