I did trade in as well. SA will get the dealer to come meet you and test the car and finalize on pricing and value of car. Then for me, i chose to give the car earlier before collection of new car. Which was done on Monday. and My new ride should come on Friday. Process was easy. I went to Dealer location and gave the car and they did all the processiong and ownership transfer. Then payment was submitted to Mazda and i received the payment receipt from Mazda.

Clean and Simple.

Did you have to go to JPJ to sign the transfer on the car grant? How do you ensure that the car has been "released" from your name?

When you step on the brake, all the doors will automatically lock.

Im curious about how the central lock works. I understand that the driver will have to step on the brake to start the car. Since the central lock also works when the driver steps on the brake, does it mean that the cental lock will be activated when the driver starts the car? will the central lock system disrupts the keyless system?

If you are idling put the gear in N and pull your handbrake. This system has the advantage that when you want to drop off somebody you can unlock the doors by shifting into P.

But just to be clear this autolock system by shifting gears doesn't come with the car. You have to install it as an aftermarket accessory.
*
Thanks for the clarification KennyKB. rclxms.gif Yes i understand that this function doesnt come with the car. therefore, i would like to understand the pro and cons of this function before i install it.

This gear operated autolock is cheaper and better than the brake autolock by GS Accessories. I'm thinking of installing it too and looking for a device which gives an alarm arm/disarm sound. The silent arming/disarming is very inconvenient and cause me to have to double check that my car is locked.
*
kluseng, i totally agree with you about the alarm arm/disarm sound.

It happens to me too especially when I am not mindful. I had to double check to see if my car is locked or not. doh.gif

Please correct me if I'm wrong , I thought the alarm arm/disarm sound can be enabled? Its like 1 beep for lock and 2 beeps for unlock.

Btw, whats GS Accessories?

The alarm arm/disarm sound cannot be enabled for our CKD version. The Owner's Manual they give us is hopeless. It contains options for so many variants including overseas Mazda 3 that you don't know which one applies to you.

GS Accessories is the authorized vendor for Bermaz. Any work done by them won't void warranty but price is high and choices are limited.
*
Wow, I m really naive to believe what I saw in some of the videos in u tube about the features of Mazda 3. Too late for me to turn back..will be getting my car real soon (fingers crossed). I wonder what other surprises i will get. hmm.gif

Don't worry you won't be disappointed. Did you book the high spec or GL?
*
I booked high spec. Was targeting hatchback but after much consideration about the price vs spec, i decided to get HS instead. Yourself? How's your ride so far?

Why you want to off the radio before you off the car?

So that you wont get a shock when you switch on your car the next day. lol. I want to know about this too. I was told by the SA that there's no such function. May i know how do you guys handle this? notworthy.gif

Lower down the volume till your comfortable level or mute it

I think that's the only solution now

Mazda focused too much on technology that they forgot to include the traditional on/off radio button ?

Not they forgot to include the on/off button. That is infotainment, and lot of your car setting is set from there, so you need always on it in order to function it well. If today that is only double din player, then it should have the on/off button.

Nowadays car not like before, no need off the player, or aircond before you off engine. The car is design for comvenient.

Noted with thanks.

I tried both of them. First the M2 which is brilliantly made for driving but felt smaller compared the previous generation model.

Then took the M3 GL ( no offense Beemers) for a spin. It's a easy choice after that.

M3 is car kinda a car that make you realise what it means waking up every morning and feel alive to drive. You can look at it for hours and still not get bored with it.

Sometimes life is too short, don't plan it just go with what you desire.
*
I tested both M2 & M3 and I still prefer M3 over M2 simply because M3 feels more comfy, more powerful and has more safety features. When I accelerated the M2, there was a burnt smell that came from I don't know where but definitely from the car. However, I wouldn't deny that M2 looks cute with nice color.

At the end of the day, its the choice of the driver. Happy choosing. thumbup.gif
