Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a Mazda. Deciding between the 2 or the 3. I prefer the 3 but my wife likes the 2 for the size. My concern is the Service Centre. How is Mazda's service? Good? Or crap like VW?

Would appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks!

Thanks jackbjg and KennyKB. I wish I had the money and car park space to get both! LOL

It would primarily be my wife's car. I'll just drive it on weekends. Also considering the CX3 but that won't be out til Nov. Glad to hear that the SC is ok. I live in KL so it would be Glenmarie?

Planning to test drive both cars, maybe this afternoon!

Mazda 3 CKD was launched in Aprl 2015. Don't think there will be a facelift in 2016.

I think the facelift is scheduled for 2017. It would be great to have a refreshed interior too.

If your wife is the primary driver my advice is go for the Mazda 2. It's also a very well equipped and fun car to drive and you save quite a bit. And she can choose RED which is not a Mazda 3 colour.
*
Thanks @Ginny88. She's leaning towards the Mazda 2 because our condo carpark space is a bit narrow an she scratched the side of our Civic a couple of times. So the 2 is the better fit in terms of size. And she likes the RED. biggrin.gif

I prefer the 3 but in the end, it's her car so she decides. But we'll still go test drive both the 2 and 3. cool2.gif

Today I went to test drive both the M2 and M3 and I love them both! Now in a dilemma, don't know which one to get! LOL

But since it will be my wife's car, I'll let her choose.

Is the M3 more powerful & quieter than M2 in city drive in term the acceleration?
*
I felt that the M2 is faster off the grid in terms of acceleration than the M3. Probably due to a lighter body. It's much more nimble and agile. I took it down some windy roads and it went where I pointed the steering with no body roll, which was very impressive. Pity the steering is too light and didn't weigh up with added steering lock. Otherwise, I would have bought the car right there.

The M3 is definitely more powerful and quieter and when properly revved, the acceleration is more constant. I feel that it handles corners in a similarly planted way like the M2 but feels much more mature and the steering weight is better. If the Mazdaspeed 3 comes out, I would seriously consider it! drool.gif

So yes, I agree with Amras of Nargothrond, they are both very different cars.

@Berrylicious, if there's a burnt smell, it could be burnt rubber. You drive like Vin Diesel izzit? laugh.gif

Sometimes life is too short, don't plan it just go with what you desire.

If I did that, I would have sold my house and bought a Porsche Cayman. tongue.gif
