Hi.. I'm planning to book a M3 before the coming CNY.. Still long time to wait.. Owners here, besides the good handling and sufficient power, is M3 a comfortable car to drive too?? Perhaps I will go for GL.. Since many comment HS 18" tyre will cause quite noticeable road noise.. And of course in future change tyre more expensive..

QUOTE(kluseng @ Aug 14 2015, 07:32 PM)
Yes it's a very comfortable car to drive especially with 16" wheels. It won't tire you when you drive outstation. Sufficient power for overtaking makes it a pleasure to drive.

The 18" rims for HS which I consider too big is the main reason I bought the GL spec.I could swap with a tyre shop but getting fair value is very difficult.

Furthermore you have to get SC to recaliberate your speedometer and odometer if you change rim size or they won't be accurate. A lot of hassle.

However I still miss the long list of features of the HS.
*

In my opinion, making decision on a car based on Tires and Rims are not the right way to go for. Aim for the specs instead. I am a HS user. But honestly, its not noisy at all. Its acceptable noise and its still quiet in the car. Compared to my Waja before this. So its a huge difference for me. use the tires until botak, then change rims and tires or maintain the rims and change to better tires like michelin. This is what i think. Cause the HS model has alot of good features built in and worth the extra money you spend.

ei.....good handling + power = comfortable. i thought this is the formula?

btw, if you are asking it is good as family car, whether the passenger comfortable sit inside the car. my opinion, it is good for 4 persons car. the foot rest at the center of back passenger is little bit too high for adult. the driver seat, okie, the foot pedal, okie, arm rest, okie, sound system, better than none, not the best and not the worse.
*
Agreed. It is a car for 4 person. Definitely not 5. smile.gif

True, but have to consider the financial capability of the buyer also. I also think the long list of features for the HS is very attractive but in the end I decided to go for the GL. My reason is that basically it's the same car with the the same engine and body. The airbags and electronic safety features are the same but with the HS you have more gadgets, not all of which are important. I consider Smart City Brake and Blindspot Monitoring to be very desirable but I'm not prepared to pay RM15K for them.

However if the additional cost is not a limiting factor I would say go for the HS. It is worth it.

Hi Guys,

I am considering of buying a Sedan M3 GL. (Not HS due to limited budget)

Want to ask if this:

1. Practical as family car? Most probably won't be fetching people except wife.
2. Can the boots fit in a regular baby stroller? Do not have a baby yet but we have planned for future.
3. I prefer white color but does white harder to maintain?
4. Maintenance cost? I know it comes with 3 years free warranty/service. But how about cost after that?
5. Safety wise. I consider its fully packed with safety features that's why I am leaning on Mazda..

1. yes but max 4 people not 5 unless all small sized.
2. definitely. its huge.
3. white in general is hard to maintain. even using some coating can help but surely need lots of maintenance like regular washing
4. not sure after warranty costing but i heard its quite alright.
5. if get HS then safety is great but GL safety is good enough for basic. 6 airbags is really useful.

1. yes but max 4 people not 5 unless all small sized.

>> Is it because of the tight legroom for the rear seat? C segment width of 1795mm should be more than enough shoulder from for 3 people at the back. Even Honda city can fit 3 people at the back quite comfortably.

Changing my City for M3 GL soon too biggrin.gif

It's because the centre console protrude into the back space so limit the legroom for the centre passenger. For short distance ok.

Yeah quite expensive but so far cheapest among the rest. Compared with Ceramic Pro also.

well short distance its ok for 3 people at the back. but long distance its quite uncomfortable. tried it over the weekend. My Waja had better space at the back. Spoke to few friends having Mazda. It has always been like this. Even last generation Mazda 6, legroom for the back is small.

Everything on the outside. Windows and Windscreen and headlamp. Rim they clean it really well. but surely rim easily gets black due to breaks.

possible but it also depends on front seat on how back has it been pushed.
