Hello, do we have option to respray the new M3 to soul red color from the dealer? And if doing it outside, is there any technical way on how to spray it?

Yes there is option to respray soul red but ask your SA. Different SA give different price. Spray outside you may not get the same effect because soul red is a patented Mazda colour and they have a 3 layer painting process. |

Hi all,
I am interested in buying Mazda 3. Appreciate if you could share the service maintenance cost for Mazda 3? Both for normal and major service. The service interval is every 10k km or 6 months right? Other than RM600+ battery price and 18' inch tires, what other maintenance cost that I should look into? |

Spray outside you may not get the same effect because soul red is a patented Mazda colour and they have a 3 layer painting process. It is applicable to all car repainting (regardless of brand and colour) even if manage to get the same original paint used by the factory. The original base coat and paint is uniformly machined sprayed using robots and baked in using high temperature (some with fancy charged formulation). Repainting outside can never achieve a good "bake in" with the resprayed paint as will melt/damage the interior fittings, sealant and electronics.Hence, no matter how good the spray painters skill, the finish can never achieve the quality, uniformity and DURABILITY of the original coat out of factory. Even if they have oven, they would at max go around 55C - 60C when the factory one, will be above 80C. So a word of caution to those who very gatal want to simply respray. QUOTE(vaioshako @ Jan 7 2016, 01:46 PM) Hi all, You can go to the service centre and ask for their service schedule. It will be listed out for reference.I am interested in buying Mazda 3. Better confirm with the dealer of your choice as they may have some flexibility in absorbing certain cost during the warranty period out of good will. My current stock tires are 215/45/R18. This size of tires are very expensive. A cheaper alternative is 225/45/R18. Can this size be fitted into our car (besides the speedometer will run by a few Kms only)?

I installed a HUD which plugs into the OBDII port and reflect engine info on the windscreen. The device works well except that it does not auto power off when the engine is switched off. But it powers off when i-stop operates and power up when i-stop restart the engine. Very strange. Anybody here got experience with this type of HUD device on their Mazda 3?

The total diameter of the rims+tyres will still remain the same as stock, the difference is the width of the tyres. You may experience slight increase in fuel consumption for using wider tyres.QUOTE(sunnytkl @ Jan 10 2016, 09:38 PM) How much is the 215/45/r18 toyo stock tyre per pcs? Toyo tyres around RM550-600 per pieceWat bout other brand same size? Tot SA told me continental same size ard 4xx per pcs. Other brand may need to special order as 215/45/R18 is not a commonly used tyre size in malaysia market (but quite unlikely that shops want to take special order for you). No harm asking around from different brand tyre shops and see what they answer. From websites i viewed before, i know that yokohama (aspecDB range), achiles, bridgestone and falken have such size, just a question of whether it is readily available in our market.
