I messed up and went around 400km over my first 1000km service interval. Getting the car serviced tomorrow. Am I likely to face any issues with warranty and such? It's my fault yes, but would seem harsh. Hopefully it'll be fine. Just a little concerned.

Also, not quite sure what happened but my petrol cap has been bent inwards (as if someone pressed it in). Does anyone know how I can go about fixing or replacing it?
*
400 over km should be not a issue. Just go and do your service.

Anyone here install Amer guard on their car? How is it? Can share your experience here?

Hi bro, thanks for the great info. So you mean they replaced it for you already? How long you waited for the parts replacement?
*
Yup they did. I called them to set for appointment around 20+ Dec and they asked me to come on 2nd January for initial inspection. According to the officer she said i should be getting the replacement in 3-6 months time but when I went there on 2nd Jan they said theyre gonna replace it right away. So they must hv some stocks available i guess.

bro, mind to provide some feedback? How does the sound proof perform?
*
Hi Toonny,

I do improved in terms of the door handle as b4 sound proof like Vios type. After doing it damn solid. Next plan need to do the boot part of the sound proof as the rattling noise at the back (even SC) also unable to identify from where. For mine it near the 3rd break light. Need to remove the entire piece to put the sound proof.

I advise you to keep on trying to find the source of the sound instead of insulating the boot. If the sound is coming from inside the car insulation won't be effective. Look for simple solutions first. Sometimes it may be as simple as a loosely fixed brake light or something in your boot.

Preliminary check been done where the noise from the 3rd break light there. Now need to remove the entire things to do the sound proof. If you hear some metal rattling noise, sometime might due to your car jack loose causing the noise.

In the context of OpenCar SDK:

Anyone has any idea what is the information made available by Mazda through the HUD? I'm waiting to get my Mazda2, in the meantime I'm looking on any informations on the OpenCar SDK, see if I have enough time to create an app on it. So far all I've seen is people hacking into the MZD system via SSH, I'm looking to just use the SDK straight.

Now if only I can know what information is made available by the car...

No idea but you can try contacting this guy. He has done a neat job with playing movies on the MZD by programming an Android app.

Hi all!

Newbie here, hope you guys can help me out with some questions.

1) Do I need to turn off aircond before starting the car?

2) The Rear view monitoring (RVM), can I turn off the beeping sound or make it softer?

3) Mazda provides 3 year free servicing but is there any wear and tear that I should be aware of that needs to be paid out of my pocket? Eg. 2 years need to change battery/tyre etc. and the cost of these items.

4) I got the car and it's quite bumpy, possibly because it's over inflated, what tyre pressure do you recommend? I tried looking for tyre pressure monitor function but not available, I guess this doesn't come with the CKD HS model?

Thank you all!

1) Not required, but a good habit to keep electrical loads as low as possible during startup. As for myself, i go further by turning off the MZD before shutting down the car.

2) Can, go inside MZD setting (either sound or safety category), can set to lower. But can the beep can be too soft if you drive fast and the radio volume above 25.

3) Fully synthetic oil need top up extra, normal service oil no need; tyres confirm your out of your own pocket; not sure about batteries as there was one person in this forum (if i'm not mistaken) that claimed a free battery replacement but batteries are considered out of pocket items.

4) Open the driver side door and there and there's a sticker for the recommended pressure sticker pasted on the driver side of the B pillar (near hip area). Usually it comes overinflated out of factory. It is up to you to follow recommended pressure or higher or lower. For safety reasons, never under inflate tyres. I keep mine at 280kpa even though most of the time i drive the car alone. You experiment yourself with your favourite pressure levels.

1) No.

2) No idea. Mine is GL

3) Wear and tear items depend on your mileage. They are not covered under the free servicing. Other wear and tear parts are brake pads and wiper blades. Longer term will be absorbers, mountings, drive shafts, bushings, etc. Same as any other car.

4) The tyre pressure is on a sticker on the driver's door edge. TPMS is not included but I've installed an aftermarket one from Victon. Go for the internal sensors for better accuracy and theft protection.

I do find it is quite bumpy when i got my car. Right now I keep mine at 250 - 260 kpa all time. Unless I know I will be fetching more ppl then I'll pump 280 kpa.

Just an update guys. Those who experience the squeaking absorber when driving after rain can head to Mazda Glenmarie. I was asked to come just for inspection before they can put me on waiting list but then they said they changed the lower arm bush d. Looks like the have some more stocks? *Initially they said need to wait few months for stocks from Japan*.
Also they put stopper to remove the knock knock sound.
Im a happy M3 owner now smile.gif
*
Hi, I might soon buy a M3 full spec ( still considering CX 3 as is CBU unit)

I really do hope they solve the knock knock sound.

have anyone tested CX3 and compare it to the M3 CKD full spec?
