well just sharing with your guys, I did call to maybank cs this morning and request to cancel maybank2card and apply for ikhwan platinium. I were told by cs that the conversion can be done thru phone without to fill up any documents or go to the branch.

However, it mean that u have to give up the 2cards and to get the ikhwan card (if u aim for 5% rebate on petrol & groceries on every fridays n saturdays, but only 1tp on rm1 spent). After think twice, i cancelled this conversion request because i have the hlb wise card for this two categories (petrol&groceries), and i mainly use the 2Amex to pay for tnb&tm bills (around rm1.5k)per month. Therefore he advised me to keep the amex and apply the new ikhwan card, but this need to be considered as new card application (dcuments n income proof).

Any better suggestions?

(ps. I often use the tp for airmiles conversion so not really care about 1.25%, still think 2Amex have better airmiles conversion rate if compared to other cards.)

Yes. Effective August 1st, your weekend cash back will restricted to DINING only instead of everything and still capped at RM 50.

If I remember correctly, I don't need documents when I applied new card through the card center at 1U (60mins approval) on top of my existing MBB card.

I am so 'free' this weekend. I don't have to pay bills. I don't have to fill up petrol. I don't have to buy groceries. I don't have to reload my starbucks card. tongue.gif

Then they should say *we have restricted to dining only rather than keeping the old benefits and saying we will introduce like its something new and add on

Hi, anyone know how to cancel this card without walk in to any maybank physical branch? Plan to cancel 2 card platinum in order to focus on Maybank Signature 50k yearly spending.

If i cancel this 2 card now and few months later maybank announce something good on this card, did i able to request this card again or have to wait after 6 months?

I understanding this 2 card is free for life and no harm continue to hold but too many cards in my wallet really distract my spending habit.

You can remove it from your wallet..... the only thing would be increasing your chance of fraud with the card still active.
