OMG just saw the update today, I love their 5% cashback the most, too bad.
But still will keep it for this year as there is promotion with TGV,
need to find a replacement card for petrol then. =/

no need to wait until 1/8, you already can cut it into half starting 27/7. but officially only terminate it after you receive your cb in early august. biggrin.gif

Sigh.

I'm gonna miss this card.

I have only overpaid for my UniFi, I should be able to use it for few months while hoping my UOB VOX could be approved for my UniFi payment since it takes up quite a big chunk of my expenses every month.

VOX can use for UniFi to get cashback?

Call the CS. smile.gif

If it is for your ATM, then can do it yourself from M2U. For credit card, need to call and activate.

Yup, amex admin charges for overseas spending is 2.5% higher than normal 1-1.5% for visa master
*
I found that the T&C a bit misleading. Amex charge 2.5%, Mastercard charge 1%.

But when you look at the effective translation, Amex worked out better.

Let me show you 2 transactions on the same day 13 November 2014. i was in Thailand.

Spent THB 175.82 in Central World, Bangkok with MASTERCARD - statement appear RM18.43 (which means RM1 can exchange for 9.5398 THB)

Spent THB 7,200 in Chiang Mai with AMEX - statement appear RM752.99 (which means RM1 can exchange 9.5618 THB)

The above transaction show that RM is worth more under Amex rate, had i used Mastercard to pay for the transaction in Chiang Mai, the statement amount would have been RM754.72.

RM1.73 or 0.23% more expensive than Amex.

In this case, i suspect upfront Mastercard charge 1%, indirectly charge another 1.73%, thats why end up 0.23% more expensive than Amex.

But then again, hmm.gif these transactions are not swiped back to back, they are swiped at least few hours apart from each other.

if swipe within the same day although few hours apart, then may be yes, but could it be the merchant terminal of different bank with different rates?
