PS5 has backwards compatibility and will be a cross gen thing for several years. The entire FF7 remake saga will release on the PS4. There may or may not be a specific PS5 only edition, of course knowing squeenix they'd probably milk the living fuck out of this franchise because - suckers all around.

I only need the based game. No fancy deluxe or collector kit, just release the game and let me relive Midgar in gorgeous 3d

My prediction on this game.

-There will be open world game, but only limited at Midgar city.
-The storyline will ends after they manage to escape city of Midgar
-aside from main plot, there will be sidequests requested by local midgar residents, guild, clubs and organization such as killing montser, fixing rail line, bodyhuard job, infiltration, blow up another reactor in which involve with raiding dungeons, sewerage and maze to achieve objective.
-exploration mechanism will be like other open world game like Horizon Zero Dawn, Spiderman, Watchdog, GTA and possibly adapting FF15 open world style.

Even if they wanted to explore further the FFV11 remake first episode outside Midgar city, the furthest they can go will be at Ancient City where we will see Aeris got stabbed in glorious HD.

Read somewhere says it will come in 2 discs for 2 episodes. Lets see.

i'll wait for super duper complete edition. can wait 3 years for it. already kena with FF15

Yeah fuck that tbh.. This is all about the new Policy thing. Sony is just dumb. Personally the policy thing is a good enough reason for me to not get the next console from them. Other console will have the real experience Maybe I'll wait if they might change things up on Xbox or PC release. I could wait.. since it's episodic anyway.

what a big let down consider they took 5 years to build Midgar only and that is about 7 hours or less in the original game ( 10% perhaps)
