It looks more like FF13 to me... which I actually... hate FF13.....
But I saw the battle system. Btm left corner, it has the same menu list as the old Final Fantasy, Magic, Summon and item. I guess the Materia system is still intact. I'm wondering how will they activate magic and summon with all the action rpg ongoing....

The engine you mean? I assure you it is not on the Crystal/Luminous engine. FFXV is the last game that will run on an in-house engine by SE. KH3 switched to UE4, FFVIIR is UE4. The shaders are already quite obvious.
As for the battle system, as explained they are still tinkering with it. What was shown is the base concept, which is very close to the original Versus XIII battle system.

Well it can be always change... Sorry have no confident with SE. Look at how FF13 changed and also the FFVersus13 to FFXV. Not until some real demo is shown I think everything still just a trailer to have a WOW.
This is their vertical slice. In dev words, they slice a part of an area (in this case, the opening sequence of Midgar) which they are still building on and show off what would be possible, in concept.

Ffvii remake is going to be a multipart series....
http://go.ign.com/1EXFsTnExpected as much.
Everyone begged for a remake, you can be sure that squeenix will milk the hell out of every penny possible from gamers. Remember, FFVIIR is their "in case of emergency, press this button" in the office.
