Sorry to ask a noob question here, anyone knows if I have a Maybank bank draft/banker's cheque and take to CIMB to use as fresh funds for CIMB 3.9% 3 months fixed deposit, will the Maybank bank draft/banker's cheque need 3 working days to clear?

I think those with cash in hand is king...  but even if you got cash in bank. ... u cant take the money out... that is why those with money in bank... does not feel like cash is king...

Any ideal public bank still offering paper gold deposit account ?

It was introduced few years ago and I have forgotten the name, it was a RM deposit account but the value of the deposit is pegged to the value of the prevailing market price of gold.  One can just bank in and withdraw in RM. No physical gold, no safe keeping headache.

I think Maybank has similar offer....but I prefer the Gold goin which is only available at certain May bank branches...compare to paper or passbook it is riskier but....holding the feel of holding real gold is different..

Just place the maybank 6+6, the FD cert didn't show next 6 months rate. Only show 4.04 for 1st 6 months

I didn't ask, but normally when u want to withdraw, u need to bring your certificate to withdraw.

Have opened Mach acct but no FD placed. Completed their survey and was given RM40 e-voucher. 

Luckily did place substantial amt there. 

Then they will keep the FD cert cert. Upon maturity, money will automatically be deposited into your account.
