QUOTE(cooldownguy86 @ May 10 2016, 12:48 AM) My room size is about 12x16x11ft. Based on btu calculator the recommended hp is 1.2HP. However mine is an old house with poor insulation - with large ventilation holes above the window. From an energy efficiency point of view, Should i over compensate - I.e go for 1.5hp inverter? Or under compensate - I.e opt for 1hp inverter, since the insulation is poor anyway? I expect to use the aircon 4-6hrs a day at 24 degrees. 1.5 should be better if heat is more. |

QUOTE(kelvyn @ May 10 2016, 08:28 PM) Has anyone installed the new Panasonic Sky series inverter airconditioner? Inverter use different piping.Any review? Also, if my current airconditioner is non- inverter, will there be any problem if I were to install an inverter without replacing the existing copper piping? I was told that the existing copper piping has to be cleaned first. |

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ May 11 2016, 05:42 AM) Thanks for all your help guys You can choose either of one. Im helping my brother to sources some aircon, he is getting about 5 units in various sizes, reason I said LG was it seems very cheap, actually cheaper then Fujiaire ? My bro got a lump sum cost from his friend, is its hard to determine the actual cost of the Fujiaire unit cost only, But generally is Fujiaire cheaper then Haier, Hisence, Midea? cheaper by RM100-200? My bro later saw a shop was advertising RM1220 - LG 1.5hp non inverter, no installation Looks like the conclusion from forum members is not to use LG or Fujiaire Budget AC use Hairer/Hisense/Midea ? Next step up would be Daikin or Panasonic basic models? Please help me to decide on what to get by providing some general pricing. if a brand is slightly more expensive eg RM100-200 but more reliable, has cheaper parts, or easy sourced parts, long term ongoing cost etc... its considered a good buy. For budget what are the rough cost for non inverter, exclude installation. HAIER 1.5 hp = RM1x00-1x00?? HAIER 2.0 hp = RM1x00-xx00?? HAIER 2.5 hp = RMxx00-xx00?? Hisense 1.5 hp = RM1x00-1x00?? Hisense 2.0 hp = RM1x00-xx00?? Hisense 2.5 hp = RMxx00-xx00?? Midea 1.5 hp = RM1x00-1x00?? Midea 2.0 hp = RM1x00-xx00?? Midea 2.5 hp = RMxx00-xx00?? Is Acsson even considered a good budget aircon? What about something better like -Daikin or Panasonic basic models -non inverter, exclude installation. Daikin 1.5 hp = RM1x00-1x00?? Daikin 2.0 hp = RM1x00-xx00?? Daikin 2.5 hp = RMxx00-xx00?? Panasonic 1.5 hp = RM1x00-1x00?? Panasonic 2.0 hp = RM1x00-xx00?? Panasonic 2.5 hp = RMxx00-xx00?? Don't choose hisense since a few people using. The shop recommend us to choose Hisense brand. The most problem is water leaking. Midea also OK. Very cold and model very cheap. Stayed one hotel with this brand air conditioning. Daikin and Panasonic will be your perfect choice. What type of function do you need extra in air conditioning? |

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ May 11 2016, 09:13 PM) Thanks Panasonic will be your best choice. Function in a office environment, currently being renovated, and inside temps are around 31-33 with windows open. We target 26-28 degrees where its just comfortable, no need to be very cold as its just wasting money. never heard of this brand but I will check it out thanks. Minimum temperature for midea is only 17°C. |

QUOTE(cucubud @ May 12 2016, 08:39 AM) Question on Panasonic Inverter iAutoX function. When the fan speed is set to auto. Why is it that when I use this iAutoX mode, the aircond sometimes not cold and the blower not blowing air out? I thought Inverter aircond will constantly blowing cold air at a set temperature? It will blow the air after a few minutes. Same to mine too The fan will change the speed from low to high speed fan. |

QUOTE(kelvyn @ May 12 2016, 10:51 PM) How to see the difference between piping for inverter and non-inverter? Non-inverter can use both inverter and non inverter piping.Because during renovation few years ago, the contractor was ask to install piping for inverter aircon. Just that for some reason during that time, a non-inverter aircon was installed. And now since the aircon unit is going to be replace, thought of changing to inverter aircon |

QUOTE(kuai_chai @ May 16 2016, 06:26 PM) hello.. Use inverter if weekdays use more.regarding inverter or non inverter, for my case as below, shall i go for inverter or non inverter? Mon-Sun: On 10pm-8am Sat and Sun (at home), so on occasionally when it is hot, maybe 12pm-2pm, 4pm-6pm. i heard inverter will consume more electricity if we on it less than 6 hours? by using inverter, will sat and sun cost me higher electricity bills due to the 2 hours on and off? any suggestions to overcome it? thanks~ |

Only applies to Panasonic Inverter with ECONAVI function.any advice on how to save the bill on weekend? my friend told me sometimes it's more save if i let it on without turning it off even im not in the room.. how true is it? ECONAVI detects human activity in the room. It will increase temperature during absence detection. |
