Hey , what I don't understand is about GMXT's min requirement as following

"Minimum requirements for Windows Mobile®, Palm® and Symbian® devices: 16MB program memory, 128MB storage card minimum (256MB or more recommended), 2GB storage card for full coverage"

then at the same time, it's required to plug in microSDcard given by GMXT into your PDA phone. so meaning that I need to install their card in order to work??can I save other non-relevant files into this card??

GMXT works for all those platforms. You need to select which platform to buy the GMXT in. Symbian's have multiple plats alone. Symbian UIQ (normally sony E uses this) Sym 60 is the more common one.
Yes when you purchase GMXT, its in the form of a memory card.
Installing the device is done thru the card. Once u're done with it, you can upgrade to a bigger card, say 4gb or 8gb micro sd and copy the files over. Its transferable coz its only got the maps and some data left. dont worry bout it.

when you purchase GMXT, normally a 1gb card is given to you. definitely not enough. i changed mine to a 8gb. copied files over and done ! all working.

Price for GMXT is around the region of RM150 at the digital mall garmin store. (ground floor beside kopi time or whatever the kopi place is)

Garmin compatible GPS maps/software (Garmin Que and Garmin Mobile XT) works on WM6, Symbian S60, Symbian UIQ3 and PalmOS format. W760i not using one of those smartphone OSes, though. So you may be stuck with the Google Maps Mobile and Wayfinder Navigation on your W760i that requires data connection.

Google for "GPS j2me", and I see quite a number of apps including TrekBuddy, Trakkcor and GPSj. Perhaps you can try it out but mostly software like this you hardly find any map for it especially in our region.

Good luck...

My suggestion get a 2nd or new PPC with built-in GPS, you can use Garmin Que (for free) or Mobile XT (need to buy the software). Or buy PPC without GPS and buy Garmin Mobile 10x BT GPS. You can use Mobile XT for free and so other GPS Navigation software eg. Mapking

Hmm guys just wondering why you all recommending malsing maps? Is it really that good? Because so far, my experience with malsing maps is that it's not very complete...i wanna find wangsa maju also don't have lol. Using this year's version. Whereas mapking's map at least can find those major places, but those small roads not very accurate.

the malsing maps POI sucks. true. but what i do is i find a place near the location, and then scroll the map, mark my destination. its a matter of choosing more POI or accurate map.

for me its accurate map.

imagine this scenario. the map shows u a right turning. in real life the right turning is sealed off. so u overshoot. the GPS calculate a new route, and insists you take that right turning! how? lol. its horrible when u're some place new, and lost, and if there's more mistakes than 1 you're really screwed! i once ended up in god knows which kampung instead of Shah Alam. SO ulu until when the GPS led me all the way here, the mapping failed cuz the roads did not exist. so i was lost. i had to pay a biker 20 bucks to lead me to the highway. from there, it took me TWENTY MINUTES of straight driving on the highway to reach my destination! that's how far off the mark i was!
