I need some help myself, I suspect its a GPS receiver fault. My location is stated as in Tengekera, although I`m moving. And GPS data cant be accessed too. Whats the chipset/ I forgot, willl see to it later.

Main while, have to use my P552w`s GPS for the time being

doesnt matter, browse the map and find your location, and select as destination. no map has every POI in the world.

Hi all, I need some help here
Just got my PDA not so long and has a built-in SiRF III GPS
previous owner of phone already installed Garmin XT into my storage card.. after reading thru a little here, i decided to download the map from malsingmaps and unrar into 2 files, one of which i copied into the main folder of garmin under my storage card. the file is gmapsupp.img for Malaysia/Sabah

But when i opened up my GPS i still have a blank screen.. have i missed something here?
Firstly, we'll need to check whether the map is in GMXT or not.

In GMXT's main screen, click on the "Spanner" icon and then click on "Browse Map", zoom out if necessary.

If you can see the Sabah map as above, that means you have not lock on with the satellite yet.

To speed up the satellite fix, in GMXT main screen tap on the signal bars on the top left hand corner, then tap "GPS info" and tap "New Location".
Browse through the map and estimate the position that you are standing at the moment, then zoom in to the max.
Tap on your location and click "OK", then wait for the signal bars to turn green.

Hope this help. smile.gif

So far I never heard successful story of installing Garmin software in Windows CE. And in order to use maps from malsingmaps.com, you need to have either Garmin software (WM,Symbian,Palm) or mapking for Windows Mobile.

I'm looking for an external GPS antenna for my ASUS P535.

What model or type of antenna should I purchase?

Where can I get it in Klang Valley?

Thanks for answering my questions.

I think you will not find any of it in Malaysia even at Asus center since very less GPS user in Malaysia. You can opted to bought it at ebay.

Hi all,

I am using gmxt with my nokia phone and find that hassle without touchscreen. but still works.

instead of buying a full fledge gps unit, i was thinking of getting a used PDA and install either GMobilePC or GMXT on it. but using an external bluetooth gps receiver.

All i need now is a PDA....any recommendations? since I might be using a GMobilePC....any windows PDA works?

thanks
