I am using Navigation Device. A GPS Bay 3033 with Mapking. It takes around 5 minute to fix the position.  Can it lock position when i am in the moving vechicle??

Btw, i tried to use 'Find Road' and when i key in ss2/61, there is no match found. How come ah? When key in SS2, there is only SS2/1 and the rest is SS23/something..

Your car have heavy tinted. If yes you need to have external antenna for GPS. I'm using external antenna and normally can get fix less than 2 minutes even on the moving vehicle.

How much is external antenna? Is it a universal antenna?

Some question. When tap at GPS, what is the bar indicate? And one is the round with number indicate? Is it sattelite?

It will cost you around RM100 but it differ one from another. You must seek from your device which type of socket you current device use.

It take times to lock the position. Sometime 5 minute, sometime 3 minute and sometime even take 10 minutes. I wonder will the external attenna really does help to expedite the fixing gps position o not. hmm.gif

Btw, got one problem is when go into tunnel, the gps signal wil lost and when i am out of the tunnel, there is left or right turn. The gps havent comeback to 'live' yet and thus it's quite a gamble either to take left or right. rclxub.gif

Also when there is two turning which distance is quite near to each other, it will make us confuse too to take chich turn. Either the first turn or second turn. Happens to me when going Dynasty hotel. rclxub.gif

That day when i tried Kepong to USJ, it show me a very far road (i choose recommended road on mapking). Instead of using LDP to Federal Highway and back to subang, it navigate me to elite highway and all the way to Bukit Raja and the GPS unit still show there is another 10KM b4 making left turn. doh.gif I chicken out and follow NST there keluar shah alam and back to USJ. sweat.gif

According to WiKipedia regarding SiRFstar_III, it can received up to 20 channel (means 20 satellite perhaps...) but for normal usage you already can get your coordinate after getting 4 satellite fix.

Can anyone let me know if i can download at Malsing forum on

1. Traffic Light Icon
2. Speed Trap Warning

to my GPS Bay 3033? Will it have voice warn me speed trap or camera ahead? But it seems that my GPS Bay have this function that i can turn on the alert for Traffic Camera. But it didnt alert me b4. Only speeding warn which is annoying as above 60kmph sudah bising.. I turned it off in the end.

It spose to warn me 60kmph is over in city road but in highway, i can go 110km. But in highway, it also warn me and ask me to go slow after i reached 60kmph..

If I'm not mistaken your GPS device software was base on Mapking application (but I dunno which version of Mapking). From my previous experience when using Mapking, you can't download that saperately, it already been integrated with the map. That was different from from Garmin device where you can created that alert separately...

Map version have nothing to do with software version. You can still have map update for the earlier version of Mapking (Mapking G10) same as in your Mapking 2007.

Yes, you can use the same software for map from other place. Just ensure the extension was the same...

A navigation device is always better than PDA and GPS phone.
