Hi guys and gals,

Three questions, need serious answers:

1. Texas Instruments BA II Plus
OR
Texas Instruments BA II Plus Professional

Which is the better of the two, more user-friendly yet effective to use for CFA?

2. As there are changes (not sure how much) to the curriculum yearly, does this mean that if I were to resit an examination the following year, I have to purchase the whole new curriculum set as well?! rclxub.gif

3. How is the tuition offered at MIMS compared with Kasturi?

Thanks a lot and appreciate all the help. thumbup.gif

Peace out.

Just check out the website.

You need at least a bachelor's DEGREE in ANY discipline (finance, engineering, etc.) to qualify you to take up the CFA program. If you're deadset on taking up CFA, I suggest you go for a finance degree first.

go for the non-professional one. i read in amazon review HERE that the professional version's keys are harder to press.

main difference other than that is just aesthetics (pro one is silver color, looks more pro)

MIMS, Inti managemnet right at Yap Kwan Seng Road.
I studided in Kasturi last time and my fren at Inti
The passing rate of Kasturi is slightly higher actually not much diff with the overall of 35% to 38%.
The good Kasturi lecturer actually go to OUm (Open University), Bangunan Angkasa opposite KLCC. That lecturer is really good. I invited to their test calsses before, he taught me in Kasturi in level 1. But since I not continue level 2, i just went there for some knowledge.

Sorry for late reply. Well, that's tough if you're coming from Penang. Perhaps you can refer to www.wikimapia.org to find the place. If you recognize any landmarks that will help a lot.

I am in Penang now and I am interested to take the CFA program. After read through all the information you all posted, I found out that Kasturi College in Belissa Row is offering this course. However, when I go there approach the staff, she said they only have CFP program. Can anybody out there help me out whether this center offer the course? Or any other college or center are offering this course? I hope to register now for Paper 1 before the application is closing. Thanks.

Thanks simple.ology.
Can you sent me the fees structure if I am going to register with MRR counsultancy? Does Mr Ooi charge the same as Kasturi and IPG? As I know, Kasturi do provide some incentive if you attend all the classes and did well in the exam. Is MRR Consulatancy also provide the same? and 1 more question, Normally the class is conducted in weekend or at night? I really appreciate for the information you provide.

To be recognized you need 4 yrs of working experience? Can someone clarify on this?

What working experience do we need? To be recognized as a CFA ( after passing all the exam), we need to have 4 years of relevant working experience such as in Banks, Securities and financial advisory fields only?

What about corporations and firms that have corporate finance department? Will the CFA Board acknowledge those working experience?

Anyone mind sharing some input?
