Hey... has anyone heard of Noesis???

I notice from the newspaper ad that they are offering CFA.

One of their lecturer appears to be Hua Jia Yee (apparently a quite famous lecturer formerly from Kasturi.

Anyone from there????

I'm planning to do Level 1. So now still thinking whether shud i self study or join an institute like Kasturi or Noesis.

I have been following the CFA or related thread in LYat for quite some time and my curiosity is getting the better of me.

...therefore...

I have signed up to do the Investment Module of CFP program and if I found that Investment is my cup of tea, I will definitely sign up for CFA in the near future. My CFP Investment module start in Mar'2010.

Watch this space...

Xuzen, u'll also need to get at least 4 years of investment-related experience to qualify for the cfa charter. if possible, try to align your work and study accordingly such that u can apply for the charter soon after u pass all 3 levels cool2.gif

The chartered-ship is far away from my mind. BTW does Financial Advisory work count as the required work experience.

My primary goal is getting my CFP qualification to be a BNM/SC Lic Financial Planner and I see CFA is just an enhancement/icing to my credential in my field of work.

Thanks,

Xuzen

excuse me, if i wanted to become a CFA charterholder, i have to work for 4 years in the related field right? so most probably its i-banking or stock broking firm?

so basicly, to work in i-bank or stock broking firm, 1 need to have a degree in bank/finance right?

so.. what will be the fate of those who dun have the degree from bank/finance to get the job in the related field? i've heard a LLB student taking CFA, and same goes to engineer.

ok, i understand if they may switch field once they passed some of the levels of exams, but i think its gonna be hard for them to switch field as i-bank and stock broking firm would preferably take accounting/bank/finance/economic grads. what will be the fate of those who have passed?

pls guide me!
