What if i got exemptions 9 papers from ACCA, still need to take so long to finish ACCA? i thought it is about 5-6 months to complete ACCA after my degree?
*
With 9 papers exempted, there will be 5 more papers left, right? I'm not sure if you cant take 5 papers in one sitting, so it could probably take a year (two sittings). Maybe you should post this in the ACCA thread for ACCA-related questions.

Can take a maximum of FOUR papers in one sitting. But that's not recommended for a working professional to have that many.

stlove,

Are you looking for just any job or a job that is related to the CFA Program? My advice is to get into the industry that you have interest in the soonest possible. You will have to learn to manage the stress.

What is your final destination? Asset management/Corporate Finance/M&A? Start working towards that while studying for your papers. Employers value you more when you have the relevant working experience/skillset and the qualifications.

what if i said i dont have final destination yet, my path is get ACCA, CFA, Masters in Finance all these certificate and related experience, then i will go and get a law degree (not to be a lawyer lah), then maybe will study business in IT later on. My purpose to study is just add value to myself instead of getting a job. I know it is quite ridiculous for working people like you guys, just some of my thoughts now, it might change depends on the situation. Would like to get opinion from you, what do you think of all these? Is it really stupid/crazy thoughts like what my frens said? Actually it was inspired by my auntie who is a single mum with a daughter, she is a CIMA holder and now she is doing Master in Business IT at aged 45. I truly respect her to the max. smile.gif

bet you won't have a life if you do all that papers/degree and working at the same time.

you might think it's cool to have so many qualifications, but as you rightly pointed out, most people will think it as ridiculous.

If you really into studying, might as well take a PhD and be a professor.

Looks like you don't have your own independent thought instead of 'being inspired by my aunt' or because of 'ACCA is the trend now'. Do you know what you want at the end?

You do realize that you need to have years of working experience to be able to "consult".

I see enough CONsultant in recent gold trading woes.

So what type of consultant you would like to be? 'Studies others just to borden my knowledge or maybe can apply in the future as well.' is an open ended remark that indicate you have no clear goal in your mind.

-What is 'others' to be studied?
-To broaden what type of 'knowledge'?
-How sure you can apply the unknown 'knowledge' in the future? A lot of cases that I have seen people ended with a job that is not suit of what they have studied.

So lastly why you think of studying the CFA program?

running away from forum topic lol.

stlove, you are putting yourself in the crossfire for most of the forumers here. FYI, most of us here might not have the luxury like you to be able to pursue Masters or tons of professional qualifications, whether in term of time or financial resources.

Also, since u studied finance, i assume you are well-versed in the concept of "return on investment". Just ask yourself whether the additional qualifications you pursue will add incremental value to you or not. Period. That will answer your question.

1. Do you need 4 years of work experience to take Level II and Level III exam?

2. Once you get a degree, that means you can register for Level I, II and III exam even if you don't complete the work experience?

1. No. You need 4 years of work exp to become chartholder only after passing all 3 levels.

2. Yes. Also, if you are in final year or semester ( cant remember ) of your degree, you could only sit for level 1... lv 2 and 3 needs a degree..
