1. No. You need 4 years of work exp to become chartholder only after passing all 3 levels.

2. Yes.  Also, if you are in final year or semester ( cant remember ) of your degree, you could only sit for level 1... lv 2 and 3 needs a degree..

Ok..tq~xD

One more question:

3. If I pass for example, level I, and/or level II -- can I put it down (for example, on jobstreet) that I have CFA Level II, as a professional qualification? Edit: Even though I dont have the charterholder?

You can write "Passed CFA Level 2". Not sure whether "have CFA Level 2" is politically correct or not. Also, not entirely sure if you can put it under professional qualification

CFA Institute has a strict requirement on this. So better check.

Requirements:
A recognised degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a professional qualification (e.g CFA, ACCA, etc).

Does professional qualification mean Level III? Or even just passing Level I or Level II is having a "professional qualification"?

Passing Level I or Level II does not mean you are having a "professional qualification".

If you are not going to take Level III in June 2013, then you should confine with the statement of 'Passed CFA Level II in June 2012'. Any indication of when you will pass CFA evel III or qualify to be a CFA Chartered holder is a violation to the code and conduct of the CFA Institute.

Thanks,

1. So does that mean only when I become a CFA Chartered holder (pass Level I, II and III and 48 months work exp) then it means I have a "professional qualification"?

It's CFA Charterholder, not CFA Chartered holder.

Employer's definition of the professional qualification varies. Some will consider even if you have passed only the Level 1 or 2 exams.

If the vacancy is for a senior role (>5 years), they will expect you to be a charterholder.

You can read Kaplan on an iPad if you use a tablet, very convenient. I haven't even opened the original CFA books, purely using Kaplan. I'm an Accounting & Finance major so I find 70% of the stuff in CFA Level 1 I have already learnt in university, just need to refresh.

I thought quants is one of the easiest topics in exam because this topic mostly in computation rather than theory.

One of the easiest topics but there are students who shiver when they see the words "Statistics","Probability", "Hypothesis Testing", etc.

I took basic Quantitative Methods and Introductory Econometrics for my course, I find CFA's statistics to be much easier than what I learnt in university. On the contrary, I find the Accounting parts to be much tougher than what I learnt in university, mostly because I only learn IFRS in university, CFA requires us to learn GAAP as well.

Hi guys & gals, I am considering level 3 classes offered by Sunway College & Noesis. Which is better?
Lecturers quality? Delivery of contents? Practice questions?

Look forward to getting your feedback!

Hi, I'll be starting Level 3 classes at Noesis this coming December. Those that have completed Level 3 classes at Noesis are not active here. High passing rate (small class size) and one of the lecturers is an exam marker for the essay portion. Practice questions mainly from text, Schweser and Elans. Lecturers will mainly focus on delivering classes.

I believe both are good (I think this is Sunway's first batch of Level 3 classes but aaron1kee mentioned that the lecturers are experienced working professionals as well) and since you have reached this level, you should realise that self-preparation will beat any well-delivered lecture.

If you want to get more info on Sunway classes, you can pm aaron1kee. He is going for Level 3 classes there.
