[Need Help]
i just get a new hypptv box EC6108V8
May i ask this version can get the play store back ?

or

still have any method to install apk ?

i just wan to install kodi .. anyone can help me ?

It's actually quite simple. You will need a keyboard and mouse. Usb or airmouse one.
- Use the browser and go download the apk you want to install. Sites like apkpure or apkmirror work best.
- Try to download as usual until you get the "Sorry" error.
- On the page you're on should be a link for failed downloads.
- Use mouse and long click on it.
- On the menu that appears choose Save link. You should see Starting download appear briefly on screen.
- Now, using the keyboard hit Ctrl+J and you will get the stock droid Download Manager.
- Wait for download to finish and click on whatever it is you downloaded.
- A familiar app install window should appear. Rest should be self explanatory.
Rinse and repeat.

Do note that installing just the playstore apk doesn't do jack. It won't open. Working on figuring that one out..
Hmmm. Then that update.zip might be gapps along with some other hypptv stuff. Gonna need to get one to test after rooting this box and replacing the recovery.img.. Thanks bro.

You don't need help.. Just need to learn how to read thread first before asking for help.. Read back a couple pages.. Sure know how... Seeing as you just joined today, consider this forum etiquette 101 class.. Always read first for info before asking for assistance.. long time ago i also read this post and i have success to install apps to my 1st hypptv box
last few month i upgrade my streamyx to unifi , i get a new hypptv box..
my sis wan the new box to use kodi watch movie ..
so i try the old method but new version have no more recovery mode ..

i saw thread said tm already block the recovery mode already ..
and will force auto update ..
some ppl say need to root ..
some ppl say use broswer to install apps
im confuse now and register an id try to ask my version still can install apps or not..
bcos i scare when i connect my hypptv box to wifi will auto update to newest version..

Nah, you haven't read the last few pages... Cuz if you did, you would have seen neocyke's post on how to get apks installed on the exact same firmware as yours. Which also happens to be the same firmware on mine too.. So probably the latest firmware at this time.. Just see the post before yours. No recovery or root needed... Now you know what to do & how to go about it.. You are welcome.

i hope to try this method, but need to connect to internet ..
i scare when i connect to internet will auto update .. after update i cannot downgrade back ..
so i try ask at here 1st b4 i connect internet..

and sorry ..
bcos i backward to read these comment .. like 147page -> 146page-> 145page

No worries.. I meant no offense.. Just dislike when info is there but overlooked..   Either way, you must use wifi anyways. Since you are concerned about it being updated, just go into the settings and disable the update. Make sure to first copy down or take a picture of the update url before removing it. Just in case.. My theory is doing that means the box doesn't know where to connect to fetch an update. I could be wrong but so far no updates yet.

I just wonder with the latest update firmware, are we still able to remove update url from setting? I tested the textbox is disable , it not allow to edit or remove the update url

You are correct... Then just leave the check box disabled... Checked mine and if you enable the check box, the box does a quick check and confirms that we are on the latest firmware. So leave it unchecked.

i've tried using browser
only resulted in timeout error.

i cant use default browser to browse other sites
only resulting in timeout error

use Lan or WIFI?
if Lan try use other Port on the router...

Now browser can browse normally..
But, download not supported... So sad
