The latest HyppTV STB doesn't have Playstore installed anymore. Is it still possible to sideload APKs to the latest STB? I don't have time to try it yet. Would appreciate if anyone can share some knowledge on this.

use es explorer to install apk

If the Play Store app was forcefully removed (aka latest firmware installed) and from his question, it's highly doubtful he installed Es explorer or even knows what it can do... Only choice is to revert to the previously "unlocked" firmware.

So updating the firmware is the best way to do it? Sorry for the noobness then. I really have no idea at all , or maybe I'm just being ignorant? Hmmm..

Right, I have no idea at all how to sideload apk yet, since I've just subscribed to unifi no more than 2 weeks ago. It's great I stumbled upon this thread though. Will try some stuff out tomorrow

It's okay.. We were all noobs once... In the future, make it a habit to do some light reading first before commenting on any new thread. You quickly learn a lot and save time cuz rather than waiting for a response, an answer might have already been provided..

Yes, so basically you have to downgrade to the previous firmware and cripple the firmware updating feature.

Need some help here.

Manage to get SPMC running on the stb. Watch a few dy. However having problem with youtube. Already disable the old youtube app and install the new youtube app from Google play store. Youtube will start but wouldn't play any video. youtube no connection playback id error. What seems to be the problem?

Access youtube via opera app also the same.

Don't waste time to try the youtube apk, it won't work. But you can use the KODI youtube addon and that will work perfectly.

I have Youtube-TV apk downloaded and side load it to the box. It work perfectly for the family..
The one from playstore would not work and Youtube in Kodi not really user friendly.

First time I hear YouTube app is more user friendly than its Kodi addon..

One thing I dislike about Kodi YouTube is the "Daily Limit Exceeded" error.

There's an easy fix to that.. it's posted in the Kodi thread..

Oh but it's OK, on my own box I use the native YouTube app, works better.
I use YouTube add-on for my white box, will check out Kodi thread.

my hypptv stb suddenly cannot detected by tv.
yesterday got power trip during thunder,
can turn on but got left yellow light n middle red light only.
using remote no function.

yestaday i saw my firend house got unifi he use Huawei EC6108V8
but no play store
i have apk file for pendrive
i open apps media but wont see apk files
just folder
don't have es explorer apps can't install because no play store

any tips please help
