unfortunately, no. during purchase, you should be provided with the warranty card. the warranty card has the list of addresses where you can send it for repair.

cost and timing depends on the service center.

Hi guys... my wife is interested in the M5...

Where do you guys think i should buy this phone? In sony centre KLCC or just the sony centre in berjaya time square or lowyat? Or other shops like directd, 1gadget or others?

I've read on the issues with m5.. so, i do understand that i still might get a unit with faulty battery... just have to change the battery at sony servis center if it happens...

Well, tried to ask my wife to look for a new model but she loves this one... haha... nonetheless, what sony model that is currently on market, with specs close to m5 that has no issues?

Thanks....

What was the feature that she likes about M5? That could help in recommending the kind of phone you need. If all else, the Xperia XZ should cover all of the needed criteria. Else, probably Xperia XA / XA Ultra but there are some differences such as SOC, waterproof and RAM.

Exactly the same question i asked her (i.e. what does she actually like in the M5)... but i could not get an answer...

Perhaps its due to the following reasons

1. Good front and rear camera

2. 3gb ram (it seems like she really wants a minimum of 3gb ram, but 2gh is "ok", whatever that means haha)

3. Design

4. It's a sony (she really loves sony, i dont mind her being a fan of sony at all.. it's her choice smile.gif )

5. A screen that is not too big (she is a bit petite and small, she does not even like my 2 year old samsung note 3 because the screen is too big)

6. Probably the price (i will be buying with my money and not hers... its just that she is a loving wife who does not want me to unnecessarily spend money)

Her main usages are
Whatsapp, instagram, Facebook, calls and sms, youtube and videos (using mx player), simple never ending run games and baby games..

Does this help?

It does, sure.
But regarding the Sony fan part, it wouldn't allow much choice since other that the mentioned XA phone (as size need to be small), only Xperia X is available around that price with good selfie camera.

Other than Sony brand, possibly Oppo F1s?

She is a hardcore sony fan.. so, nope... i actually did suggest that...

I will anyway look into XA and see if she would love that instead...

Thank you for your suggestions... i really appreciate it...

What if price is not of a concern... what would your suggestion be?

And i just remembered that she does not want a phone with a glass body.. (i think she wont mind though as ultimately will use a casing for the phone....)

XZ would be it. Maybe if not urgent, could purchase it from Gemfive with discounts so that the price could get nearer to 2k.

Gemfive... I'll have to google where that is... or is it a reliable online shop?

Here, Gtronics is one of the reliable seller from Gemfive. But do browse a bit more, maybe can get better discounts (either in Gemfive or elsewhere). Or you could wait around Christmas for a possible discount too.

Probably something to do with hardware. I hope you'll manage to work around it soon.

Still hard to find replacement for this phone. Used it for 1.5 years plus, no major problem, spec wise apart from the 16gb internal, is no other problem so far, even survived drop into Sungai Rajang (was on a leash, so I manage to pull it back out, otherwise gone d)

Hey guys. Just got my Xperia M5 last Sunday from Sony The Curve. Got it with special price which is unavailable at other stores (went to Sony KLCC earlier and asked the staff).

I got it for RM999, and it comes with free gifts:
1. 1 year extended warranty
2. Tempered glass
3. Soft touch back case
4. Charging dock

Not bad for a Mediatek phone given the special price and gifts. thumbup.gif

Same price at DirectD in PJ when I went there last week. Quite surprised since I bought it for rm1600 in July last year. This phone is pretty good for all purpose minus the auto shutdown etc etc
