I don't want to buy this phone after read GSMArena review "Sony Xperia M5"

Yeah, for the whole time taken to take one picture, it is indeed slower than samsung phones, I have tried S5, S6, LG G4. It is comparable to other sony phones, almost same with Z3+ that I have tried.

I found that making it "Manual" mode speed up things a bit.

15-16 pictures in a few seconds, you are talking about burst mode right?

I think most of us refer to single slot, meaning, when screen is off, how long it takes for you to be able to take one picture.

My Z3 Dual Sim that I bought while on assignment overseas has decided to give me problems. As I've gotten used to Sony's UI along with the 'waterproofness', I am considering the M5 as a replacement.

Reading GSMArena, it seems there are a number of users with a few problems and this is why I'm asking here to the current Malaysian M5 users: Are you'll facing any screen / random reboots / hanging, etc problems?

cant imagine sony phone still under bad battery issue.. i thought after Z1 with stamina mode, most sony phone are good for battery life..

probably chipset is main cause.. Mediatek X10 Helio too powerful already or else need some software tweak from Sony.. waiting for android 6 coming to our phone and control the permission manually.. mostly is about some google apps running background with turning on gps unknownly and drain our battery..

with android 6, we may control the permission and allow the certain permission to each particular apps.

My sim 1 slot now cannot read my sim card anymore. I thought my sim is broke, after 1 day of lost contact and I switched the sim to slot 2  and it works. I try the 4k recording and the video recording only records green pixel all over the video. This phone has a Never ending problems.

Hi all, new owner of M5 here.

I have this problem where the back panel pops out at the sides when it is heated due to being charged or heavy usage (downloading apps, gaming etc). I figured that the adhesive used by Sony melted because of heat and this causes the back panel to come off / slide when I use it.

Have you had this problem? Tried the hairdryer trick but this is just temporary. Since it is still under warranty, planning to send it to Sony Centre KLCC. How long usually does it take to fix this problem? No issue with auto-shutdown encountered so far.
