Add me to the M5 Dual list.
I've been using the phone for the past 4 days; mainly with the camera. 1 problem - sometimes the camera app will hang and be unavailable, if this happens i have to restart the phone. Is quite frustrating because the moment of opportunity is gone by the time your camera app is ready. The camera is quite good though, and able to take multiple shots very quickly. |

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Sep 28 2015, 10:47 AM) Yeah, for the whole time taken to take one picture, it is indeed slower than samsung phones, I have tried S5, S6, LG G4. It is comparable to other sony phones, almost same with Z3+ that I have tried. I dont see any problem with taking multiple pictures , I managed to fire off about 15-16 pictures within a few seconds. In fact I use touch to take and when i press my finger on the screen it just fires about 4-5x per second. I have to say my experience is that the camera is pretty snappy and very fast.I found that making it "Manual" mode speed up things a bit. But yes I am using Manual mode, I don't think anyone uses Auto on this phone. This post has been edited by spacelion: Sep 28 2015, 10:52 AM |

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Sep 28 2015, 10:51 AM) 15-16 pictures in a few seconds, you are talking about burst mode right? but i dont set burst modeI think most of us refer to single slot, meaning, when screen is off, how long it takes for you to be able to take one picture. my only complaint (and it's a big one) is that the camera app will randomly hang . That's the biggest flaw with my phone, hopefully they can fix this. This post has been edited by spacelion: Sep 28 2015, 10:55 AM |

I wonder if app hang is due to overheating. But this processor is not 810 so shouldnt be so drastic.

QUOTE(ultrageek @ Oct 8 2015, 04:08 PM) Hi Guys, yep , got a lot of problems. My Z3 Dual Sim that I bought while on assignment overseas has decided to give me problems. As I've gotten used to Sony's UI along with the 'waterproofness', I am considering the M5 as a replacement. Reading GSMArena, it seems there are a number of users with a few problems and this is why I'm asking here to the current Malaysian M5 users: Are you'll facing any screen / random reboots / hanging, etc problems? Thanks the dual sim slot will disconnect if you run the phone very hot. this forces a restart. also occasionally my 3G/4G internet cannot connect if you turn data on. If I swap sim to other phone it works fine. |

Since my last post I'm still using M5.
It still frequently overheats, I've learned to use Stamina mode on forever to prolong battery life. From 100% to 50% is damn fast drain though >.< |

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Nov 18 2015, 03:46 PM) cant imagine sony phone still under bad battery issue.. i thought after Z1 with stamina mode, most sony phone are good for battery life.. naah, in my case its just a lot of gaming. But the phone runs really hot. last month I had frequent shutdowns, now I tend to space out the gaming in order to keep the phone running ok. probably chipset is main cause.. Mediatek X10 Helio too powerful already or else need some software tweak from Sony.. waiting for android 6 coming to our phone and control the permission manually.. mostly is about some google apps running background with turning on gps unknownly and drain our battery.. with android 6, we may control the permission and allow the certain permission to each particular apps. The sim holder for this phone is also quite bad, I feel most frequent restart is due to the metal sim holder warping slightly and the nano sim losing contact which forces a restart. |

QUOTE(zafrandbz @ Nov 21 2015, 11:03 AM) My sim 1 slot now cannot read my sim card anymore. I thought my sim is broke, after 1 day of lost contact and I switched the sim to slot 2 and it works. I try the 4k recording and the video recording only records green pixel all over the video. This phone has a Never ending problems. what? impossible. My slot 2 wont read sim card if there's nothing in slot 1. |

QUOTE(faiz_otaiz88 @ May 18 2016, 09:50 AM) Hi all, new owner of M5 here. is your phone new or 2nd hand? maybe got reworked before?I have this problem where the back panel pops out at the sides when it is heated due to being charged or heavy usage (downloading apps, gaming etc). I figured that the adhesive used by Sony melted because of heat and this causes the back panel to come off / slide when I use it. Have you had this problem? Tried the hairdryer trick but this is just temporary. Since it is still under warranty, planning to send it to Sony Centre KLCC. How long usually does it take to fix this problem? No issue with auto-shutdown encountered so far. Thanks! |

Still hard to find replacement for this phone. Used it for 1.5 years plus, no major problem, spec wise apart from the 16gb internal, is no other problem so far, even survived drop into Sungai Rajang (was on a leash, so I manage to pull it back out, otherwise gone d)
