Well I'm not sure about this, but you can try Perangin Mall. Yesterday I saw quite a few M5 here and there. Maybe some are usable demo phone.

Hi, I am currently an Xperia Z3 owner, very happy using it, but the battery and camera is going off soon, so planning to change to another Xperia model.
My primary consideration is always on camera and photo viewing, beside the basic phone calling, whatsapp and facebook.
So, here is my shortlisted list:

(1) Xperia M5
- been reading good review about the camera (both the rear and front)

(2) Xperia C5 Ultra
- like the big screen, but camera a bit behind M5

(3) Xperia XA Ultra
- love the big screen and edge design, 16MP of front camera
- but bad review on camera (both the rear and front)

Any comment? TQ

How come XA Ultra has reviews on bad camera? GSMArena praises both the camera and actually made the front camera a benchmark for all other smartphones. The bad thing about it is the small battery and short battery life.

What was the feature that she likes about M5? That could help in recommending the kind of phone you need. If all else, the Xperia XZ should cover all of the needed criteria. Else, probably Xperia XA / XA Ultra but there are some differences such as SOC, waterproof and RAM.

Exactly the same question i asked her (i.e. what does she actually like in the M5)... but i could not get an answer...

Perhaps its due to the following reasons

1. Good front and rear camera

2. 3gb ram (it seems like she really wants a minimum of 3gb ram, but 2gh is "ok", whatever that means haha)

3. Design

4. It's a sony (she really loves sony, i dont mind her being a fan of sony at all.. it's her choice smile.gif )

5. A screen that is not too big (she is a bit petite and small, she does not even like my 2 year old samsung note 3 because the screen is too big)

6. Probably the price (i will be buying with my money and not hers... its just that she is a loving wife who does not want me to unnecessarily spend money)

Her main usages are
Whatsapp, instagram, Facebook, calls and sms, youtube and videos (using mx player), simple never ending run games and baby games..

Does this help?

It does, sure.
But regarding the Sony fan part, it wouldn't allow much choice since other that the mentioned XA phone (as size need to be small), only Xperia X is available around that price with good selfie camera.

Other than Sony brand, possibly Oppo F1s?

She is a hardcore sony fan.. so, nope... i actually did suggest that...

I will anyway look into XA and see if she would love that instead...

Thank you for your suggestions... i really appreciate it...

What if price is not of a concern... what would your suggestion be?
*
XZ would be it. Maybe if not urgent, could purchase it from Gemfive with discounts so that the price could get nearer to 2k.

Gemfive... I'll have to google where that is... or is it a reliable online shop?

Here, Gtronics is one of the reliable seller from Gemfive. But do browse a bit more, maybe can get better discounts (either in Gemfive or elsewhere). Or you could wait around Christmas for a possible discount too.

Hey guys. Just got my Xperia M5 last Sunday from Sony The Curve. Got it with special price which is unavailable at other stores (went to Sony KLCC earlier and asked the staff).

I got it for RM999, and it comes with free gifts:
1. 1 year extended warranty
2. Tempered glass
3. Soft touch back case
4. Charging dock

Not bad for a Mediatek phone given the special price and gifts.  thumbup.gif

Well, the price ain't that bad. I wonder how much difference overall between Xperia XA, Xperia M5, and Xperia XA1? unsure.gif
